If it is leaking it will blow oil out the breather and cycle on and off, mine would cycle about every 60 to 120 seconds

never had an issue with either one of mine. I doubt his is the seal. he probably just overfilled it.

I flipped on my compressor, no short cycles. Only cycled after a few engages/disengages. Left the air on for about five minutes. Flipped the locker on only in 2wd if that makes a difference for this test.

I've seen too many people on TW complain about diff fluid coming out of their breather only to find out it they over filled it. I got water in my diff when i went to coppinger and water/oil was coming out diff breather cause it was overfilled. Ever since ARB went to the new seals i haven't seen one person have the issue that Jeff described. Jeff hasnt had an issue with his either that i know of. Maybe his could be different but that's why i said i doubt it.

If the air locker is disengaged and no air being given to the system would a bad seal still make the fluid rise enough? I haven’t engaged my front locker or compressor for probably two weeks

I first noticed it after getting an oil change/alignment right after I regeared. I thought they were just sloppy with the engine oil. That doesn’t help the timeline though.

interesting. I haven’t seen those issues. Oil does expand when it gets hot, but that’s just a long way to go.

I have seen several folks have issues with even the new ARB seals though. It’s still one of the best / strongest lockers out there though.

If no air is in the system, a bad seal would be out of the equation I would think.

I reallllly don’t want to take that damn thing out again haha I’m going to start with draining it a bit, because I was paranoid I wasn’t filling it enough the first time

Let some diff fluid out and and see if that helps. If it doesnt might be a seal if you locked the diff anytime before you noticed it.

They admit they had some bad seals, most everyone I know that has them has never had any problems. Even though I have had to pull it twice I would still get another one. They even give me a $500 set of lights for my troubles.

If the compressor is not cycling it isn't the seal.
