Can you shut off the credit card key from transponding its signal? I have started shutting off my fob after I park my truck. Call me paranoid

Ive been wanting to do this card key mode for a while.

Im needing to add an addition smart remote to my 2017 tacoma since i only have one at the moment. I came across this website that allows you to rent a programmer to add an additonal smart remote.

    https://tomskey.com/collections/2015-2019-toyota-tacoma-push-button-start-smart-proximity-key-fob
(Theres a video in the link that shows how the programmer works.)

Im going to rent the programmer and add a smart remote to my truck. Im also going to buy a lexus key card and attempt to program it through the rented programmer.

It looks like it should work to me.

Has anyone, in the US, found the small Toyota logo to replace the Lexus one?

I found one on eBay. Seller was in Australia so it took forever to get here. But still only like $10-$15 total IIRC.

Does this work on the 2021s? Mine hasn't arrived so I can't look at the key.

Anyone know if an RFID blocking wallet like Ridge would prevent this from working?

I went to a toyota dealer to cut the smart credit card key and they could not do it. The guy said the key was too thin to grip in his key cutting machine. That is strange that the machine the toyota dealer has is different than what lexus has.
I then went to a lexus dealer that had no problem cutting the tacoma key pattern into the lexus key. The key works perfectly with the door and tailgate.

It cost $55 at lexus to cut the key. I already had the key blank.
The guy measured my existing tacoma key to cut the new key. He did not go by the vin. He said he had a gauge to read the existing key pattern code.

What about not having your car starter option on the remote? Sorry didn't read all 33 pages.

My regular key fob doesn't wirk in the RFID case above, so I doubt the credit card is any different.

Has anyone programmed one of these lexus key cards with an Autel Ms906ts? (or any autel with programming capabilities) or is techstream really required?

This is awesome and why I love the forums! Great job! I am sure some Toyota engineers are peaking in and will hopefully be available on the upcoming newer models.

Your dealer sucks, I had my Lexus CC spare key cut at my local Toyota dealer in Poway, CA. They were dumb founded that the CC key from a Lexus worked and charged me $5 to cut the spare key.

I love this forum and the idea everyone has.

I have the Lexus card key.
I'm in Key West and I'll be driving home to Denver.
Does anyone know a place or person that can program my fob on the way?

Thank you. I emailed Ridge and they confirmed it won't work.
