The price of that one is great.

The only difference I see in any of them, is the one I got has the little silicone teeth. I tried it out today, worked awesome keeping it on the line while it was slack or taught. I do most everything solo, so I try to look at everything from that perspective.

For the price I paid though :anonymous: :cookiemonster::bananadead:

This can happen in North Bay around Christmas and New Years, pretty often

I have been in a chain of a dozen freebeez in a row. Lots of people just keep it rolling and pay for the person behind.

Last week the lady in front of me bought a coffee, handed a $50 to cashier and said pay for the next orders until its gone, then drove away. Not the 1st time iv seen this tbh.

There are lots of nice people

Cool, tks for your opinion guys.

@llamasmurf, didn't you buy some weird shackle to wrap the ropes and shorten their length?

What's the name of the product again? I think it is around 200$+. Is there any other alternatives to that shackle or whatever is called?

My budget tends to be under 50$ or 100$

    Hey,
For big overlanding trips, have anyone ever thought of strapping a let's say 70l, 20gal gas tank on the roof rack? Kinda like12“ tall?

    Aluminum, plastic or metal?

Is this a no go? And why?

Yep it is called an X-lock, and is about $240 :anonymous: (Remember I have no children, and work 2 jobs. Expensive toys are one of the perks my wife says :cookiemonster:)

One of the most common uses is shortening an extension, but it has several uses.

    In use;

As far as I could find, it is the only tool like this. :notsure:

    Yeah, looks pretty cool.

For now I might just cut the winch line in half and use an extension if needed.

People have been putting jerrycans on top of expedition rigs forever, some just run a bigger jerrycan:

120 lb of fuel on top of your roof plus the weight of the tank itself. The effect on driving dynamics will be worse than an RTT if the fuel sloshes. It might be better to strap down 2-3 smaller jerrycans as the walls will act as baffles to limit sloshing.

There are other considerations like a fire hazard in a rollover and needing a stepladder to fill up at the gas station.

Yeah, one of my main concerns would be the sloshing. One of the ways to reduce that effect would be to keep it full until the main tank is almost empty and then transfer the whole gas to the main tank.

The main reason I don't love the jerry cans is the fact that they are taller and you have to strap them one by one, and tight to each other, more chances for a strap to fail.
I was thinking to get the most flat gas tank possible to reduce the center of gravity, 1 foot max height and the longest possible to centered it on the roof.
This tank would be the only thing to carry on the roof.
