Seems like a bad idea, what if you’re stuck and that solenoid takes a shit? I’ll take my chances with rekt bumpers and truck fires thank you:cookiemonster::cookiemonster::cookiemonster:

I have the same one. Peace of mind that there’s no power going to the winch unless I flip the switch. I mounted it in the bumper next to the winch free spool selector.

And like Chux said, I don’t use a fid. Piece of solid strand wire or a wire coat hanger and electrical tape works fine. Or even a stick.

The nice part of this is that it's a manual connection.

The nice part about this is that you can literally mount the switch anywhere, like in the cab like Jay, Steve and I have.

Thanks gents. Ill probably mount the switch out of the elements in the engine bay. Im glad my truck didn’t burn up and still have no clue how it broke. Maybe there was a cut in the winch line. Or a weak point. Ive winched with it a few times and used it for other stuff never hooked to the line and always used tree saver straps. Ill take a bent bumper over a burned down truck any day thats for damn sure

2021 me says thats a pricey 90 bracket...

2013 me says is there a group buy?

This was my first thought and theory when I saw where the line snapped. Also the reason I had a flat link for a bit and then got the rope guard when it came out..

Anyone could spend $10 at Home Depot and have something that will work.
The difference is, that kit looks nice.

Haha, I hear you. That bracket wouldn’t work for me anyway with the dual battery setup, but I would install something similar on my passenger side where the winch control box is.

Finally started building a drawer system for the bed of my truck. I’ve wanted to do it for years. Thanks to @diabetiktaco for selling me the fridge slide and giving me the reason to get started. Should have the baseplate and fridge slide installed within a few days. Drawer will be a little while. 50” locking full extension drawer slides are on their way though.

Saw some light at the end of the tunnel for a project I have had in the works for some time now.

If you need to find the project an 06 LX470 just sold for $62k. Yours should be worth at least $45k now. Insane prices on these things.
