    Hi TW!

    For my first post.

I have been reading up on forums after forums. Most of the ideas are credited by you guys at TW. And if anything, possibly the reason why my truck stands alive today. So thank you all. My situation could be if not, a rare one I have yet seen/read.

    TT weight:
5600 lbs dry weight. 24ft, 28ft to the tongue.

With husky weight distribution hitch. 1000 tongue/10,000 weight.

TORQUE air bags 5000lbs per bag capacity.
    Torch 1.5-2" aal.
    4:88 nitro gears.
    Fox 2.0 with cd adjustors
    Tekonsha p3 break controller

If google is correct, stock is a little over 4400 lbs. Weighted the truck is 4800 lbs. 400lbs on gear /tires above stock.

The extra 400lbs on the truck are:
    Hooke road roof rack
    MBRP front only skid plate
Bodyarmor 4x4 southern style winch bumper
    Tyger dual girdle nerf bars
Open country atii 255/85/17. (20 lbs + per tire from stock weight)

Also upgraded transmission radiator daisy chained with stock trans cooler with a hayden 679 with a maradyne m103k 10" fan in a pull configuration to help cool my radiator in tandem. Trans theromostat pinned since I live in socal.

    Please, any input is welcome!

If you're comfortable towing it, then more power to you.

I have the same trans cooler and it's been performing great, but I'm towing a 21ft TT, 23 ft tip to tip, 4000# dry, 5000# loaded.

Maybe if you have some load E 10 ply tires it will increasing towing stability a bit more or even a sway controller (I run the harbor freight one with great success) just to prevent the trailer from wagging.

You've got everything else going for you for some good towing. Travel trailer is a lot heavier than I would tow, but if you feel it's in control then it's all good.

Driving it with a 3% grade jumped rpms from 2000rpm (normal) to 2800rpm (only does this with trailer attached) at 40mph. Usually with the 4:88 gears it only goes from 2000 to 2200 rpm steady. Increase in speed to 50mph it jumps rpm to 3000rpm for 2seconds then drops down to 2200 rpm at 50mph. AtF temps with obdii shows 160 F. This is after top off on the atf (which was about a quart low from factory).

Thank you for the welcome. How much of a benefit would a magnuson supercharger (another 8k$ worth the upgrade?) be with towing? I hear the conception of making the 3.5l into a v8. Would it tow like a tundra?

Anyone experienced with the supercharger installed?

I've asked a similar question about a supercharger helping with towing.

I've got some good responses from members:

Thanks for the link. Read the entire forum. I guess I wont be going s/c route. So I guess now the question remains. I am geared to 4:88. Should I regear "again" to 5:29 to help with towing? Is it worth it? Differences?

Not looking for speed, I drive daily not beyond 70mph anyways. Looking to keep my taco for many decades.
