It took 3 years to die. I have it supplying power to my switches, that in turn switch relays. If all my switches were on I might be pulling an amp through that board.

 

If that’s the case then I’d treat it like a weak fuse and carry spares. The rating seems to be mistaken. I like how you implemented it.

I have it set up so I can bypass the chip if it dies in an inopportune moment. . . Thank you, I spent a few days talking with the electrical engineer I work with about how best to set up my panel.

Here is my aux fuse panel, its a OEM toyota panel that comes with the "ac not cold at idle" TSB. This box is used for the single blue relay, and 1 mini fuse. The rest of the space is empty. It can hold 3 full sized relays, and 3 small relays, but only 3 fuses.
I ordered pins to fill out the other 2 fuse spots for my light bar (dual color bar).

 

Did anyone use nylon or rubber washers between a metal mount and the fender? I'm slightly worried about paint wear.

 

Yes. 5/16” fits snug around the 8mm bolts.

I was being serious, I did not run them and I’m wondering if it could cause an issue.

 

It's a precautionary measure, so if you ever remove the bracket there won't be a bunch of wear marks from metal to metal, which could eventually rust over time because the paint is gone. Seem like 10 cents of nylon washers are worth it in this case.

Edit, I didn't do it either, and @TheCochese has me thinking I should...

 

My super white has no clear coat and seemed to scratch easily there. Also, the surface isn’t flat and washers push the tray away more.

 

Ahh, sorry about that then. My concern was potential wear over time, metal on metal.

 

I used 4, two between the tray and the fender, and two between the bolt heads and the tray. Overkill, but did not want and vibrations and paint rubbing.

What size breaker is ideal for general use? I am going to be running lights and possibly on board air at some point I have also thought about a duel battery set up for camping but that likely won't happen for a long time. Should I go with the blue sea 100A or 120A or is their other recommendations? Also do I need a low voltage cut off if I want to use auxiliary power when the truck is off. I am very green when it comes to automotive electrical work and I have been able to avoid it until now. Any tips or tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

It’s specific to the Bussman RTMR but is a must read in any case.
I personally don’t see the need for more than a 100A block and breaker since any high amp devices(more than the 30A per circuit limit for both Blue Seas and Bussman)would likely bypass the the block/breaker anyway. The fuse panel sets the limit at 100A for the Blue Seas so your breaker should be no more than 100A and the cable that feeds it should be sized for that breaker. Cable capacity greater than or equal to breaker which is less than or equal to panel. #4 awg pairs ok with 100A block/breaker but some go bigger.
Voltage drop can be an issue on longer runs so I use this site to calculate how much voltage drop there will be(double the distance to include ground return). https://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm
It’s listed in ohms per 1000 ft which seems ridiculous until you run some numbers and see how undersized wires kill voltage way before it becomes dangerous.
Read build threads, read mod threads, read wherever your curiousity takes you, you’d be surprised how much you learn that way.
