I paid a shop to do it. I used the fittings method on this forum.

It was just tedious since unlike the hellcat and BMW CDV, Taco lost the entire fluid fairly quickly and so it had to be refilled and bled. Hellcat was super easy and if you are fast you might lose a few drops.

It was worth the money for them to do that instead of me saying a bunch of french words while trying to get in the truck and pump clutch pedal then under the truck and mess with the bleed screw.

If your shop mechanic is neat and tidy and don't have bad fittings it should take less than 2 hours in a shop since you do need to get the lift up and down a few times. If fittings were bad then you'll have to restart the process. Of course we had one bad fitting so had to do it twice.

Drilled two holes into the plastic shroud, and secured the SAE connector with a zip tie.

I do. But to each their own. Also ran updates for shift points. Shift better and sportier performance. I liked the PC commander. Just a clash of personalities, so to speak.

Took her in for an oil change at the dealership this morn. Left for a few hours and came back, and got some rather unsettling news.

    1. Gonna need a brake job soon. Drivable obviously, but about 3MM left on them. Normal maintenance, but not something you really wanna hear.

    2. According to them, there is a minute oil leak. They said they couldn't trace is down. Possibly coming from the area near the power steering. Said they "cleaned the area up" but still couldn't locate it. The service writer said it could possibly be coming from a gasket. I haven't noticed any oil on the ground where I park, but guess I'll start keeping an eye out. Service writer said oil wasn't low, but to keep an eye out on it.

    She's a 2016 with roughly 50,300 miles.

So I guess that invites the question for all the soothsayers of the World of Tacomas: anyone else experience an issue such as I described?

Installed the Garmin mini dash cam today. I need the other direction short USB cable so cable pressure doesn't move the camera over time. Had to twist the dongle power supply wires to get it all hooked up. But other than that super easy install. I like the set it and forget it part. Got to remove my toll tag too as it shows on one side. Sweet. Just hope I NEVER "have" to use the footage from it but glad it is there now just in case.

That's not the timing cover leak, is it?
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/timing-cover-leaking-oil.484372/

I came across this recently, and have tried to keep an eye on mine. Needing to triple check, but I think this type of thing could be covered under the extended powertrain warranty.

I think @PapaRee had an oil leak on his 2016, I am pretty sure he told me it was covered under warranty.
