Have a look at Veto Pro Pac bags if you want something really rugged and budget allows it

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
I like rolls. Can be really compact. But I carry bare minimum tools too.

Had a camera case laying around, it's sturdy, has front and top access, and zips all around. Works great and fits inside my ammo recovery box.

I keep most things in the truck box (extra fluids: ATF/Oil/Coolant/Gear Oil, camp chair, cooler, extra parts: UCAs/Ubolts/NutsNBolts, Recovery Gear: Tow Straps/Shackles/Hitch Shackle), but I have a tool bag that I keep a general tool kit in (wire cutters, BFH, deadblow, Zipties in various lengths and sizes, screwdrivers, prybar, hex keys, star keys, etc) and a Kobalt socket set that I throw in when I take a trip.
I keep a full roll of wrenches in the cubby under the rear seat along with a torque wrench and a few impact sockets in a zipper bag for the basics like lug nuts, axle nuts, suspension, etc.
My center console holds my multi tool, an air gauge that has a air release valve for airing down, a flashlight and my winch remote.

I need to build out a spare holder so I can get my spare mounted on my matching wheel and mounted in the bed.

I'm planning to either buy some cheap containers for behind the rear seats or 3D print some specific ones.

I've actually considered going down the list here and building a custom tool set to keep in the truck at all times along with loading the PDF with all the torque specs onto my phone for reference.

I bought a tool roll off Amazon, it holds an amazing amount of tools and fits behind the back seat

Official tool roll is just what I need. I used to carry a Milwaukee bag that weighed 25 pounds and just kept filling with more stuff I never used. This is perfect and can fit behind the front seat on the floor.

I’ve just been throwing it behind the drivers seat on the floor. Doesn’t interfere with seat movement. And now with a goose gear seat delete and a fridge there it fits nicely sitting vertically in the same area.

I also use the Rothco GI bags. Fell in love with them working on jets in the Air Force and bought a bunch for the car and camper.

Atlas46 makes probably the toughest tool rolls on earth. They’re pricey but are way overbuilt and will last. They have several different designs. I first bought one with the individual wrench pockets but returned it for one with just the zippered pouches. Absolutely love it. I probably have 20 pounds of tools in it.

I use one of these. I've had it since I bought my first tool kit for bikes as a kid about 20 years ago.

Now I use it in my truck. It's small enough that I don't overload it with too many things. I really like the velcro pockets at the top. I keep tape, fuses, zip ties, etc in the pockets. It folds in half and then rolls up.

Seems they don't sell or make this one anymore but I recommend something sized similarly.

I also have the Carhartt roll someone else posted. It's quite similar but found it doesn't roll up as well (rolls more like a tube than a burrito) and the pockets are not very big and do not have a secure closure.

That Step 22 Pangolin one looks cool. Good pockets, and, shaped like a burrito which I like. Both the shape and the food. :rofl:But....:spending:
