I'd pull the studs, block the ports, and scotchbrite it first to see if it cleans up, if it doesn't then I'd three stage sand it with a flat block. That's not looking hot though, I've sealed some nasty shit with blue hylomar, but that's not even clean enough for that yet.

I've never had to deal with expansion plugs before, but I'd imagine that you could get them in there a lot easier if you froze them before installing?
Would that be a valid approach?

You want em to drive in hard and make a nice firm seal, I wouldn't freeze em

So what am I looking for? If it fells flat to the touch is that not good enough?

As I mentioned before it looks pitted in the picture but there’s no pitting that I can feel.

Machinists trick is to feel it with a fingernail, typically if it grabs a fingernail it needs some finish work for a basic paper/rubber gasket.

Looks great! Did you do the retrofit yourself, or did you buy the full assembly?

Already assembled. I actually picked these up from a Black Friday Sale that they were having, so the cost to buy them already assembled would have been roughly the same as building them myself. The only downside was that I had to wait 4+ months after I ordered. The light output is insane when compared to LEDs in stock housings.

Can I ask a stupid question lol.

I'm looking into having a set built by them.

How do you like them? Is the projector they provide already have have the bulbs and harness? Does it do both the high and low? Lol I'm so lost.

Yes! It comes with everything you need. All you have to do is wire the harness up and it’s plug and play using the stock headlight harness for the driver side for high and low. They have a diagram on their website, it’s super straight forward. It’s a one piece unit so everything is included. No bulbs to worry about.

Got these "spring bags" from Eibach to keep my Fox coilovers (with Eibach race springs) from filling up with mud and other crap when in muddy conditions.

A bit too "hey look at me" for my taste but now I fit in with the weekly washed and polished mall crawler crowd...except for the washed and polished weekly part. Plus, I expect they will be coated in something which is a color other than red by the end of this weekend. And, they are either Made in America or the chinese sweatshop sewed in a "Made In The USA" tag.
