    • My 2008 Tacoma (which my son bought privately my son was barely 17 at the time and I ended up buying it from him) stunk of weed. So first thing I had to do
    • Remove seats an shampoo , shampoo, shampoo to get rid of smell
    • Since then I replaced heater resistor
    • Rear wheel bearing and bent side axle
    • Some u joints and carrier bearing
    • Front steering shaft
    • Front bearings both sides
    • Stereo
    • Front side axle
    • Brakes all around calipers rotors drums
    • Both handbrake cables
    • Changed ALL fluids
    • Changed sparkplugs
    • Replaced rockerpanels and painted truck
    • Replaced windshield and back window
    • Replaced tailgate
    • Replaced rear leaf springs (twice)
    • Replaces both headlights and tail lights
    • Replaced clockspring
    • Replaced some dashlights
    • Had her in to Toyota for frame campaign ( they treated it and told me it was warenteed for another 10 yrs?
    • Replaced muffler and exhaust
    • Took off the wheel spacers that previous owner had installed (a whole lot of shaking going on)
    I still have to
    • Get service engine light off( maybe oxy sensor)
    • Get abs light off (sensors I figure I did damage 1while replacing wheel bearing)
    • Get tps light off
    • Get handbrake light to go off
    • Throughout bearing is a little noisy but I aint going in unless I have to
I'm sure I've missed something but I am working through it. Am I crazy? I can't seem to let her go.
BTW it had only 200000km when he bought it. It was driven hard and put away wet. It has 250000km now.

Next week is U-joints and carrier bearing.

Otherwise, just oil changes and general maintenance. Currently have 111,xxx miles.

    Same as everybody else...
I bought my 09 used with 53k on her. She's sitting at 143k now and has been as bulletproof as my old 99 Ranger. I replaced both FWB, battery and serp belt. Other than routine maintenance thats it. Not to say there's not stuff in the near future such as brakes and refresh the suspension. Im at the dealership now getting the radiator flushed and AT drain and fill. Like I said, routine maintenance

    80k here.. nothing major:

    - Spark plugs twice
    - Rear/Front diff fluids
    - Oil changes
    - Grease zerks on driveshaft
    - Headlight bulbs
    - Two sets of ATII's
    - New AAA Battery
    - Air filter
    - Cabin filter twice
    - Front brake rotors and pads

For my 90k upcoming i'll do oil change, air filter, spark plugs again, rear/front diffs and the t-case this time.

And not tied to a maintenance interval but I have both front wheel bearings ready to be replaced. Just gotta man up and do it.

I have done all of the work myself with the exception of the paint job. I have painted trucks before but I am not a professional
The grill is not put back yet because I am waiting for my light bar to arrive

    Awesome posts guys
I'm changing a front side axle today ...I had to leave it for now but already I'm into a tie rod end because the nut was seized and the tapered end just spun around so I had to cut off nut. The inner part is not releasing on the side axle from the differential. Will try tomorrow again

Other than the minor lift, UCAs and ECGS bushing that were done within the first 5k miles.. currently at 129k and I've had to replace the following

Left rear axle seal and shoes
    Front pads
Pull the transfer case and replace input seal

Oil changes obviously. Other fluids, tune up parts, accessory belt, etc have been done a couple times.

Right now/coming up.. the spherical bearings at the bottom of my coilovers are getting shot. 1 of the poly bushings in the left UCA has loosened up and developed some play. Need to spruce up the front end soon, but that figures with aftermarket suspension stuff

Also the A/C mag clutch hasnt been the same since i drove through a creek. I get the flashing light more and more for a few minutes when I turn it on

Other than that its fine. Always starts, not a single CEL or warning light

Picked it up with 60,000km. Didn't bother looking underneath or getting it inspected since I figured it was still so new. When I got under to grease the u-joints I found it was wet with fluid where the transmission bolted up to the transfer case. That cost me about $800 (CAD) to get fixed by my mechanic, I believe there were two seals he replaced. Can't remember which ones now, might have been a transmission rear main seal?

I have 105,000km now. No other issues, I do all the regular maintenance myself. I've gone and done a few things ahead of schedule such as full coolant flush, power steering flush, and transmission flush as well though. None of which I'd consider "repairs".

‘05 TRD Sport just hit 200k on the clock

Had it since 50k in ‘09

    Alternator
Serp belt and a couple pulleys
    Plugs twice
    Rear transfer fluid once
    Air filter a few times
Always synthetic oil at service light interval
4Runner big brake upgrade with SS braided lines and new rear shoes and drums with full fluid flush and complete new hubs w/ new bearings from 05Taco4x4 (only job I had a shop do)
Replaced all the suspension with 3rd gen TRD off road takeoffs with about 15k miles about 15k miles ago
Just today got ‘17 4Runner take off wheels and tires so I can ditch the spacers I had for the brake upgrade

    Think that’s everything.
I should probably get on a trans flush and fluid change as well as coolant. Soon hopefully.

This light goes into the fake air scoop. I put in the Ridgid Hyperspot and it is awesome. I keep the grill area clear of obstructions to get max air flow to the radiator and ATF cooler. I off road in the dez and air flow is very important to me.
