No problems. All the wheeling in my previous truck were with slotted rotors. The slot profile doesn't trap rocks.

    I don't have experience with cross-drilled though.

I think cross drilled are likely to trap mud and dirt which will affect pad life if you wheel a lot.

Only had drilled once on a Drag Car. Guess they were OK for that application but definitely not for everyday Stop ‘n Go.

Keep in mind that was the last time I went to the dump without skids or any gear......I think the most I weighed in the truck was 6700lbs with most of my gear excluding 20 litres of water and any auxiliary fuel.

why I have been making a point to go through gear, armour, tools, etc etc to try and lighten it up. The strain on my drivetrain isn’t good and I don’t want anymore reason for a Big Bang like last year.

I managed to return an old server rack I had in the basement last week. Got $23 scrap doll hairs for it, because no one would take it off the front lawn with a FREE sign on it.

@tacoma16 @Tridet167 My truck was at 5300 lbs coming back out empty bed.

That makes me feel a bit better considering I got an extra foot of frame and what not.

I'm curious to weigh mine. I have the extra foot like @tacoma16, cap, bedslide and rear bumper tire carrier and the roof racks so I should be pushing close to 6000 lbs. Been seriously considering getting rid of the cap but at the same time it's nice having things locked and out of the elements. Still on the fence though.

These vehicles gvwr is kinda brutal because by the time you get armour and a winch on you are close to max load. The hilux is nice since it’s close to the size of our truck with the rating of the tundra (irc).

The caps are nice. I’m hoping to remake mine so it has a floor and is an easier on and off. Also shortening it up.

Ripped apart the harness that came with the arb-twin and re-purposed the wires for they way I plan to wire it in.
Wrapped them up in split loom.
Then painted the mounting bracket satin black to match the engine compartment.
Too windy and cold today do drop it in, so it will sit in my basement for a little while longer...

Figure I'll use double flare fittings on 3/8" Copper nickel brake line to run to the front rad support area,
(vibration coils in the path) where I'll put a manifold, air tank and regulator with a quick connect for an air hose....

Now to collect those said pieces and figure out where to stuff them....

The Hilux would also end up with a wimpy GVWR if it was certified for the North American market. By federal regs, all handling / obstacle-avoidance tests and VSC calibrations are done at GVWR. The Hilux would fail certification otherwise:
