I appreciate that. I assume I just need the T4R Z36 kit and T4R dust shields. I'll be due for brakes in a few months/miles anyway

Sup Phil, bout to head the hay so I can go into the office tomorrow like a real adult.

I guess my only question is why the dust shields? I know Wes and I don't run them. I don't think Brian is either, but not 100% on that. I think not having them keeps my wheels cleaner and helps the brakes cool easier. Just wondering.

I just assumed I would need them or cut the Tacoma ones. My knowledge of brakes is how to push the pedal

It’s just harder on the innner pad and they will wear quicker if you don’t have one.

I haven't had dust shields on mine in years and the pads still wear evenly changed the pads once already. If your pads are wearing unevenly it isn't due to a missing dust shield.
That's all it is there for is directing air to help cool the brakes if you are doing such driving that needs that kind of cooling. They are on the back of the rotor so not really affecting the dust getting to the wheels that's more of a pad compound thing.

I’m not saying significant, but they keep junk off the rotor which is much easier on the pads. Also reducing the heat emitted from the rotors to other components around the rotor is a plus.

I can see an argument against them for trucks that see mud and crap frequently though.

I think I'll grab them. If it ends up being wasted monies...….won't be the first $100 I've thrown up a wild hog's ass

Some people “waste” their money on brake dust shields and some waste their money on 20 light bars or a high-lift with no way to use it on their truck. Take your pick.

I don't have light bars or a high-lift......so...….maybe my choice has already been made for me? :D
