Thanks that’s a great write up. I used to track my fuel and mileage pretty religiously when I first got my truck. Endless commute miles and weekly fuel ups drove it to a stop but now I’m realizing the benefits as I add goodies to the truck. I think I’ll give the 33 tooth a try. On the surface it seems like I’d need a 34 tooth due to the larger jump in ratio of the 5.29s but I noticed your Speedo was reading the same 80 at 65 mine is after the gear change.
On a side note reading your trip reports helped during all the cool downs on the way home! I’m excited now for our Utah trip in a year or so. We’re hitting the IDBDR this year

Unfamiliar with that alternator option. Had planned on doing the CS144 myself. Is that a direct bolt/wire in?

My junkyard Rav4 steering wheel that I got reupholstered showed up today. Looks stellar, feels great. Will install sometime this week. Almost afraid to use it for fear of damaging it.
    IMG_20210411_212420665.jpg

The wheel was never upholstered at all, just had that thick rubber coating. Craft Customs out in Texas said all they could do was just wrap it in leather as is, so its a bit thicker than most leather wheels but I like it that way.

Now, about the upholstery on that desk chair...

I keep my drum unlocked so in the instance of a short it'll just free spool instead of catching fire. It will occasionally sag.

+1 to the starter wire, might as well do it while you are upgrading wires. The stock harness breaks down to this:

Looked back at my Amazon history and 10 ft was indeed enough.

Yeah I would go CS144, same price, more amps. Just need the wire adapter from ebay, but I would assume the CS144 is more widely avail than the denso here in the US.

My install is here for reference if it helps.

I started building an electrical hub for the truck to replace the old setup I had in the tool box. It won't be as elegant as the tool box setup (switches were much easier to see and access with that setup) but it should work fine, and having USB outlets that are always hot in the bed of the truck (with the flip of a switch of course) will be much nicer when the devices start dying at camp and I don't need to turn the trucks ignition on just to charge the damn phone. Right now this will be hooked up to the main battery but it will eventually get hooked up to the AUX when I go duals.

    Old setup:
