Good info here! Hopefully selling my motorcycle today that I never drive. Should cover the cost of the OME lift :bananadance:.

Sounds like OME90000 and 886s are the way to go. I am not planning on doing any crazy off-roading but want some more clearance, and a meaner looking truck. MPGs be damned!

Are extended brake lines a must? Seen it mentioned in a few places.....

I don’t have extended brake lines and there was plenty of slack in them when I did the install. During the install you will have to pull them taught to get them out of the way, so when you install them back again there is plenty of slack left.

Thanks! Just sold the bike! Should juuuuust cover the lift. Then I’ll limp around on 265/70/r16s until my tires die and go for wheels/285s.

This makes me feel better. I just received my OME lift kit. I ordered the 886x coils with the firm strut/90000 and dakar medium duty leafs. I plan on adding a bumper someday soon so I decided I'd future-proof my setup but I've been worried about ride quality.

I came from lowered subarus on coilovers for the past 5 years so I'm sure it won't be as bad as that but I was still worried lol. Glad you love the setup!

Ordered the exact same. They tried to tell me the softer shocks ride better, I insisted on the 90000s. I’ve read a lot and I think 886/90000 is the way to go if you don’t want the sags.

Telling people about ride quality is hard. It's all subjective and some people tolerate things more than others. I hope the 886 doesn't let me down!

I wish I could have compared the 2. Maybe one day I’ll run across someone locally with 886/90000’s , I’m not unhappy w/ the soft but really would love to know the difference in daily driving.

The place that’s installing mine apparently had a demo rig you can drive. But they mostly do overlanding stuff. So no “zero added weight” vehicle to try out. I like a firm suspension for on road so I just made a guess that I will enjoy the stiffer option. I’ll report back when I have some experience with it.

Thoughts on ride quality? I see you've got a bumper on your truck. Did you install the lift before or after having the bumper?

90000s? Not too stiff? I like the lift height. Doesn’t seem to have sagged.

Also, HDs don’t make the rear bounce around with no weight in back?

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
I think the ride quality is acceptable for a 1200 dollar suspension system, including the leafs. It is not even close to what coilovers feel like, and regular coilovers are nothing compared to LT with proper hydro bumps, and LT with leaf springs are absolutely nothing compared to a 4 linked rear with coils (the truck Im referring to is insanity)

I installed the lift before the bumper, changed the springs out after I got the bumper. I think 886s are entirely to strong for a tacoma without a front bumper. I had 887s, changed them out to 886s.

the 9000s are not too stiff, but my height is attributed to my tire size, which is 315. (but Ive had the suspension on a total of 80k miles, swapped out the front springs at 35k from 887s to 886s) there has been some sag.

Not really, But I used to have an rtt and bedrack, and I dont drive super fast when wheeling. Right now, the bed has a full size 35 in it, some recovery gear and the long term plan is a rear HC bumper, which are heavy as well. I may pull one of the leaf's out. I just havent felt the need. My tires eat most of the impacts, because when Im wheeling Im at 10-15psi most of the time

Nice. TY @the.sight.picture . I think im gonna go 886/90000 with no weight (bumper to come) and just deal with the stiffness until then. I don't really offroad much and im sure itll be fine on road as long as Im not hitting speed bumps at 50mph.

I have the 90000. It isn't bad at all. You feel the bumps though.

for future people looking through this thread
I purchased the 886 with 90000 which gave me 2.75 and 3 inch lift (driver and passenger heights).
The truck is stiff enough to drive without sway bar.
I had to do the CV boot mod:
    https://youtu.be/pREB_nFhKns
I also swapped the needle bearing for the ECGS bearing
Overall I would say get the 886. Truck looks great
