A friend of mine Installed this for me today ( I was the designated gopher ). He pieced his together on his '16 and liked the convenience of this kit and was impressed with the upgraded Nakita camera. He got it working on his first try, slow and methodical approach.

A few notes on my install...

We snipped the white wire to mirror the image. We left the lines in place since I like those to assist with lining my tires to correctly go over obstacles. We removed the Qi charger button and used that slot for this switch, but we had to splice/extend the wire about 12". We put the camera as close to center in front of the TSS as possible without any TSS issues that we could detect for now.

He plans on getting this for his Tundra and we both recommend this kit.

Nope. The opening for the sensor is lower than the camera.

Just finished my install. Everything is working properly. But I was hoping that the vehicle would override front camera and witch to the rear when put in reverse. Any anyone know of a way to do this?

For the life of me, can't get the illumination to work. Hooked up the blue with the red-cables as previously outlined, for guys who with pre-2020s who wanted that switch illuminated, grey with ground. Without ripping out the entire center console, any other good alternative for something I can tap into down there?

Under hood lights, OEM LED cargo bed lights, extra D-rings installed in bed, AC mod, diff. breather mod, OEM LED puddle lights and footwell lights, Homelink mirror, oil catch can, raptor grille lights, replaced chrome grille molding with black molding, tailgate lock/unlock and tailgate opener, console organizer, glove compartment organizer, Caliraised stealth LED light bar, TRD Cold Air Intake, Lighted cup holders, Meso extended fuse cover, Meso stage 1 tail lights, Meso switch panel, Door bowl lights. Anytime front and rear backup camera mod. TRD Pro Rigid fog lights.Door edge guards. TRD Pro shift knob with Boomer's TRD LED light (Red for security, blue for interior), Glass Break Sensor, sensor with LED light tied into the security LED light, OEM LED Headlights, Sequential LED Turn Signals.
You have to hook up the blue and grey wires from the switch to illuminate. I hooked the grey wire to the tan wire on the cargo switch. The blue wire is spliced to the lt. green wire on the cargo switch. This is how mine is hooked up and I have the switch backlit and it also dims with the other switches. Hope this helps.

If you don't want to splice into the factory harness, Get a mini fuse add a circuit. and use it to run the positive backlight wire (blue) to the fuse panel under the dash. I use the tail light circuit (not brake lights, but tail lights). This way the backlight only illuminates when your lights are on. Then run negative illumination (grey) to ground. You should e able to get to all this without taking anything apart, just laying on driver floor.

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
There are a few TW members that can make PnP T harnesses so that you get the illumination in the switch like it should be.

Has anyone has issues with battery drain after installing this mod? No issues before and now I’ll occasionally have a slow start/need a jump. Battery and alternator test good and the only thing electrical I’ve done is install the anytime front/rear camera.

Any ideas where the parasite draw could be coming from within the system?

EDIT: Thinking about it, it seems to happen after I sit in the car for a couple minutes on battery only. But I’ve still never had that issues of completely draining the battery until after this mod.

Is your battery original? If so then you might want to take the truck into your local auto parts store and have them test the battery to see if it is failing. 4 years is right around when the original battery on Tacomas starts to crap out.

Edit: Oops, helps if you can read. See now where you said the battery tests out good. If the problem continues disconnect the new mod for a day and see if you eliminate the drain.
