A few notes: No rub on the cab mount, but I suspect it will rub when the wheel is stuffed. The front fender liners required a significant amount of trimming. Need to bend the tabs between the diff and the spare tire mount up to fit the spare, but it looks like it might fit inflated, if just barely.

I saw this and immediately my brain thought "HMMWV," what with the dirt coloring the metal and the narrow tire. Started looking for your k-pot and the strapped down antenna. Then I realized you photographed from below looking up.

So you ended up with ST Maxx?

Are those wheels OEM 17x7 or FN 17x8?

    Looks great btw.

I ended up getting a cmc with the 33x10.5 kendas if anyone is looking to go that route.

You have -10 offset wheels right? That also contributes to needing a CMC

I'm 255/85R16 on factory steel rims (no the spare type) and I'm flush (or a bit less):

Dang, I should have snapped the sunny side...

Thanks. These are the OEM 17x7, which I got from Olathe for $172/ea.

Bent up the spare tire tabs and cut off the exhaust hanger in order to fit the 255/80R17 STT Maxx spare under there. It looks like it's clear of the diff and I think that I'm good to go, but haven't had a chance to test it yet. Anyone have opinions on if it's good or if it looks like I'll need to the relocate the spare tire mount?

edit: Flexed it much as I could with a Pittsburg 14" jack on the diff. It's still not hitting, so it's good to go for normal everyday driving, although I'm certain there will be contact offroad. Probably will end up relocating the bracket next weekend just so I don't have to worry about it.

Edit 2: After reading through this thread on relocating the spare tire hoist and thinking back to a photo I took of my hoist... it looks like moving the hoist where I want it might not be feasible on my 2011 without making some sort of bracket to lock the rear bolts in place. Guess I'll be strapping the tire into the bed when hitting the trail this summer.

    KO2 listings.

Stock Tire, OR with 265/70R16 on there now.

Thinking of 17" TRD 4R Wheels (get five from McGregor) and running 235/80/17 KOs, Going back and forth about 16" steel wheels (paint them black).

Full set of rims and tires to swap over. Get them for Discount Tires. New Sensors programmed to match the existing four wheels so when I swap back forth now TPMS issues.

Costco has a better price, but I suspect if I get new rims and TPMS Discount may be easier to deal with in getting TPMS programmed to match the other tires. Ya, probably another $60 per wheel?

EDIT: 2021 4Runner 17" Pro wheels do not bolt up! Wheel machining or hub grinding are required with Taco's rear drum brakes. Details here:

Just got a set from my local dealer and had no issues on my 3rd gen. Just checked and confirmed, no gap on the rear. Sounds like there was a bad batch. It's a great wheel and size, I wouldn't shy away.

I am a skinny fan, and have a set of KM2s in the 255s, but they just weren't as big as I was looking for diameter wise for my Taco. I found the Goodyear MTRs in 275/80R17 and absolutely love them. Not as skinny as some, but for a nearly 35" tire its as skinny as I could find. (Granted I didn't look super hard once I found this size in MTRs) MTRs are some of my favorite tires with the tread combo pattern and Kevlar. We have some nasty clay/mud that clogs all but the most aggressive treads, so for me this is the ideal tire.

Just made the move from 265-75-16s to 255-85-16s and am liking the look! Might just be my excitement talking, but it feels more controlled when driving as well.

Been on my truck now for 18k miles. Wearing extremely good. Respectively quiet. Worked great in the snow and ice of Eastern Canada. Getting a steady 17.2-17.4 MPG daily driven.

Did you happen to weigh these before mounting? Goodyear annoyingly doesn't publish a weight on their site.
