Bought a house....moving in tomorrow! More into the sticks.....further from Asheville :hattip: We need to do a WNC meetup sometime. Where is everyone? This thread stays dead.

Moving from Arden to Candler. Still pretty stock but getting that sorted. Lift Friday, wheels on order, tires next. It would be nice to have a beer or something and get some info on some trails around here if you know of any.

With enough beers you can make your own trails!

I know a cool trail that goes from 74 over to Cullowhee. Haven’t been on it in years but I’m sure it’s still there.

I'm sure plenty of people in the area know way more trails than I do, but one of my favorites is the Chestnut Mountain Rd/Auger Hole Tr path, up into the game lands between NC and SC. Fun times.

Hey fellas. I am in Charlotte. I’ve got a quick question/favor to ask the locals. I need to program a key for my 2014. Does anyone have the tools to do this? I used to have access to an Autel machine that could do this. But not anymore.

Got a map/route for this? I don’t intend to do any hard core shit until I get more equipped. But I’d like some easy muddy stuff.

I'm down the mountain in the northern part of Spartanburg county, SC. but I ride up to the asheville area once or twice per month. Only about a 45 minute drive for me from my house. Let me know if I can be accepted into the WNC meetups.

I'm in Sylva, work in Cullowhee. You're probably talking about Cane Creek, and it's still there. But if you're near Cullowhee, Ruff Butt is far more of a challenge and way less traveled/known.

I’d like to know more about that. I know there used to be some trails up to a bald there but apparently they put tank traps in front of all the entrances?

They have blocked most of them. You used to be able to drive all the way up Caney Fork to the parkway but they've blocked that one. Here's a map I made of the fun ones. Note that the Moody Bridge area is private property so ride at your own risk. (Also not for stock trucks or solo riding. I don't even take my truck up there, I ride my bike up in there.) The others on the map are open FS roads.

Edit to add: You can get up to Old Bald still via Moses Creek Rd, but it's nothing challenging, just gravel. The turn-off up to the bald gets a little rougher, but all you really need is just enough clearance to clear the water breaks. You can't drive completely up to the bald, but almost. It's like a quarter-mile hike past a gate.

Yes, still haven't changed them sadly. The weekends aren't giving me any free time yet.

Anyone wanna throw in on a fluid film (I guess now also known as woolwax) 2 gallon kit and do some undercoating? Apparently it takes 1/2 to 3/4 a gallon per vehicle depending on how heavy you apply. Comes with the gun and 360 nozzle to spray inside the sealed frame. I have an air compressor.
