Awesome. You didn’t mention it in your post, so I was just clarifying. The output gains are from the boosted alternator, not the battery.

Good side-by-side in your previous post. Light is super difficult to accurately photograph, higher color temps always end up looking brighter in photos than in real life since whiter is mentally attributed to brighter in a photo, but in real life it is far more complicated than that obviously.

does anyone know of a diode or anything to boost the voltage for the older style mini fuses? the diode doesnt fit the mini fuses in the tundra.

Instead of a harness or in addition to a harness?

The Ford diode booster option vs the HKB mini fuse voltage booster.

Is there not a wired relocation option for the diode to fit a mini fuse slot?

i just checked HKBs website. the dip switch style is sold out, but they do have a diode based circuit breaker style fuse.. i may just buy that.. the next thing will be actually finding an odyssey or X2 power 27F... since they seem to be hard to find now

You’ve seen my voltage booster thread, right? That @daveeasa linked above. The circuit breaker style fuse is the recommended one for best performance providing the optimum +0.5v. I had the switch one and switched to the standard one.

yea it had been a while. The GM diode was the first thing on my mind because thats what i use in my avalon (that diehard platinum is going on 10 years old now, still tests 85% health!) i'll get one of them ordered. my truestarts having issues holding a charge. so the truck needs a battery, time for the AGM

Thats a pretty good comparison photo. To me there a much more visible hotspot on the clear bulb than the CBB. Could just be the camera not picking it up very well. But either way it would be an improvement over the stock bulb for sure.

Oh yes! Shoulda put that in there for sure! Yes, overall just a ton better. Even before when I had the CBB in before the battery abs boost change, they were just not relevant. Now, they’re usable. I can tell a big difference. The boost is needed if anyone plans to use tinted bulbs.

Agreed on the pictures. Dad has some very very poor bulbs on his truck and the pictures I took lit up the whole street when in reality, I could see nothing...

There is a bit of a hotspot on the clear when close. But past a distance, it’s clear. Overall these two are good stuff. But, to go this far, may as well go clear lol get the best light ya can!

Doo it! If you haven't already. This upgrade is vastly superior to replacement LEDs in a reflector.

Same idea in this thread, that is the established way to improve halogen performance.

I'm suspecting that FedEx has again missed their estimated delivery date, this time for the Morimoto assemblies. I don't think they will show up today as estimated, since they still haven't arrived at the local distribution center.

Actually, they just showed up via UPS. I have no idea what was supposed to be here from FedEx. Guess I’ll find out tomorrow.
