its not recommended. The only reason i did it was because the 885's that i purchased were a bad batch and they sagged a ton. even now, my cv's are barely angled... even with the spacer.

Went up to pinetop and got a few shots of the projectors in the snow.

    Hey Loving the headlights!!!!!
I got an extra set of OEM headlights and currently going to do the BHLM, I really like how yours turned out and was wondering if you used VHT to tint the amber pieces? ( If so how was the process?) Also was thing of going the HID way, notice you ran HID's for awhile then switched to projectors, would you recommend getting HID's or just saving up enough to just go straight to projectors? Were there any down sides to HID's?

Sorry if this is too many questions I'm just super interested in changing the look of my Tacoma to many out there that like like mine :(

Thanks. Yes, i did use VHT on the amber.... i just sprayed 3 coats on it and it stayed glossy without having to use clear. If i had to do it again i would pay a shop to tint them as they did with my taillights.

Yes, i ran HID's for a while..... I personally will never use regular HID's again only because i am spoiled now with projectors. The projectors are 100 times better, so if youre going to spend even $50 on HID's id just save up and do a retro with projectors.

If i didnt have an option with projectors then i would run HID's again, but i dont foresee that happening

How did you get the orange pieces out of the headlights??? I assume you pulled the lens off and popped it out?

How much did the shop charge you for your tail lights? Did it take much searching to find a shop to tint them for you, I'm just wondering because it sounds like my best bet to tint my ambers and tails is at the same time.

How was installing the FX-R stage 4 kit, I've been looking at the kits and was wondering how much work will be going into the actual install?

I've been talking to schiz94, and he said he was getting the BI-XENON MORIMOTO MINI STAGE III KIT (D2S) because they are a lot easier to install to our stock headlights.

Do you know the differences between quality in the BI-XENON MORIMOTO MINI STAGE III KIT (D2S), BI-XENON FX-R STAGE IV KIT, or even the BI-XENON FX-R STAGE III KIT?

Im not trying to Jack your build thread asking you questions so if you feel that let me know and I will stop

no worries man, thats what the build thread is for!

The shop that i went to charged me $50 to do both tails.... it wasnt hard for me to find a shop here in PHX. i just went down the row of body shops till i found one that has painted tails before. You will be able to find one willing to do it.

The projector install was really not HARD.... just very time consuming and tedious trying to get everything perfect. In all honesty, if i were to do it again I would probably go the same route as schiz94 and get the morimoto mini's...... the light output on them is not AS good as the FX-R but it is very close and very respectable..... As for the install.... its a breeze with the mini's (another reason i would go that route). Because in the end...... any of these projectors is going to be leaps and bounds better than what you have now.

I really cant speak to the durability and quality of the units themselves since i have only had experience with the FX-R's, however, I have read nothing but good things about both setups.

:D exactly what i was thinking. the output isnt far off and the balls required to put in morimoto minis isnt even close to FX-Rs :)
