I’ve got a 95 that I’ve decided it’s time to really get to work on . It’s a 3.4 extra cab 4x4 . And I’m having trouble locating a frame near me . I’m in Louisville . Any help or tips would be great

Thank you ! I’ve been lurking for awhile finally decided to join . Sadly i don’t think so . It’s pretty toast and it’s the worst in the front where they don’t make a cap for it

The frame that the dealer put on my truck a couple of years ago has a sticker on it that says "Metalsa Structural prod. inc. Owensboro, KY 42301". Maybe they can hook you up.

I got my frame replaced in 2019 by Oxmoor Toyota. On the invoice was this parts list for the frame kit:

    frame_kit_parts_list.jpg

The frame is P/N 04008-30A04. It doesn't show as available on the parts website for Oxmoor or Toyota of Louisville, but it shows up on McGeorge Toyota's parts website for $2400.

    https://toyotaparts.mcgeorgetoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-frame-sub-assembly-kit-0400830a04?c=az0x

I would call Toyota of Louisville and see if they could order one for you. I wouldn't even bother with Oxmoor, their prices are 30% higher than ToL.

Is your truck by chance sitting on the side of the offramp on the Brownsboro Rd exit on Gene Synder? There's an early 1st gen in Paradise Blue sitting on the side of the offramp that's been there a couple of days. Thought about leaving a note with an offer to buy it...

From what I have heard around Here the Frame itself is over $5000.00 and the complete out the door job was quoted at $12,000.00 plus whatever extra parts were beyond saving. Labor was quoted at $120.00/hour this was last fall and very well could have changed.

Looking for a used Frame if yours is to far gone get hooked up with people in the Southwest USA pay the shipping or have a road trip even so your in for a life of tender loving frame care.

I have one outside of Charlotte, NC that I've been using for measurements - it is soft in one area, the rest is sound as far as I can tell. happy to part with it if you need it.

No, I'm not 100% sure. The reason I thought that part is the frame is because I looked up all of the parts that were listed on my invoice and that was the only one that was more than a couple hundred bucks. However, when I do some more googling I find this part listed "Frame rail". That part wasn't included on my invoice, but it's possible that it doesn't get added for some reason. I wonder if the sub assembly part I listed earlier is all of the cross members.

Oxmoor charged corporate $130/hr, this what the total looked like:

The other reason I thought that part number was the frame itself, is the frame comes with a sticker on it that has that part number. I wish I had taken a picture of it before it became unreadable, but mwrohde had the same sticker on his:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/frame-swap-compatibility.537336/#post-17307258

I would definitely call Metalsa and see if they would make a one-off frame for an individual. The answer is almost certainly no, but can't hurt to try.

any first gen extended cab frame can be made to work, the difference is the trans crossmember. you can remove old crossmember and weld into frame you buy, i have done this, not a big job. if you plan to change frame yourself, i can give you some tricks to make it easier, should be about 4 days work.
