what do yall like the most im looking for somthing that has semi aggressive tread and that will also last the longest i have researched both but cant find the actual mileage out of the both of them some say the GY get 40k and thes ST get 30-50k. what do yall think about the both of them i like the deep lugs of the st plus it has 20/32 but the goodyear is good in all conditions but has 18/32. what would yall choose for best Mileage, and on all on/off raod conditions and best bang for your buck

For me I like the duratracs, but they are alot more per tire where I have found them. I am looking as well, getting ready to buy new shoes this spring.

For the record, I have not had either, just research on the net.

i have always liked the looks of duratracs an have heard good things but saw they have a softer compound that may cause it to not last near aslong as tires like the bfg ats. hard to find alot of info about the cooper seems most people do not post up alot about them.

I've got the Cooper ATRs and I love them. I was looking into the Duratracs but they were a lot more expensive at the tire shop I was buying from. They stock Coopers all the time.. I think my Cooper ATRs mounted and balenced were somewhere around $560.

My dad has the ATRs as well on his F150 and has over 30k and they still have lots of tread. He does 100% highway driving though. I have had good luck with Coopers.

Well... the tread is a little too large as far as I am concerned. These trucks aren't heavy enough to get decent traction with a huge tread. Im also starting to get some more than usual tread wear...

yea i noticed that they did have pretty good gaps between the lugs almost like a mud tire. how many miles do you have on them?

those of us with the duratracs have gathered over here

I have had mine on for about 4000 miles and love them. they handle very well in all conditions. the only gripe I have is the balancing issue - took 4 tries when I first had the tires put on.

The reason you are not finding any reports on wear is probably because these are still a fairly new tire/tread design. They came out in late 2009 IIRC. There are a range of mileages reported from fellow TW'ers so far and the biggest culprit to short tread life seems to be climate - warmer climate, less tread. These are all season, severe winter use rated tires after all and are meant to be driven in cooler climates.

There are a ton of GY rebates out there right now - be sure to get in on those. And where ever you get these...make sure they can to road force balancing. That is what it took to get these things balanced properly on my truck (your's is more or less the same so I'm assuming you'd have similar issues). Happy shopping!

my total would be 750 without rebates. i can get goodyear cupons that 80 there, then they have a $40 rebate going on now, and if you buy on gy credit card that another 80.so may be able to get them for 550 out the door

I'm trying to decide between the ST's & Duratrac's. I've had great luck with Cooper car tires, but never had their truck tires. There have been several people mention balancing issues with the Duratrac's. Are there any other Taco owners running ST's???

The local non-chain tires shop said the ATR was their most popular truck tire when I called them to ask about Hankook Dynapros on Friday. For what it's worth...
