This thread covers SR / SR5 to OEM LED harnesses. You need additional parts for the DRL logic, Johnny has worked it out.

My DIY thread on OEM LED TRD conversion harnesses covers the purchasing options for those with TRD halogen headlights (LED DRL's).

@MikeyMcFly since these questions come up rather frequently, would you perhaps be willing to link to our two threads in your first post?

[IMG] So I made the mistake of buying the alpharex knock offs.. they don’t perform well, but came with a wiring harness for installation.

I just ordered the OEM headlights, and wondering if anyone knows if the alpharex conversion harness will also work with the oem headlights.. if not I need to pick up a new harness. Thanks!

Edit: added photo from install guide

I believe the harness you posted is for SR / SR5. A photo of your harness would be best assuming you do have a sport.

I found a pic of my harness prior to install on TRD OR. Not sure if this would help.

That’s the one, should be good with it. Looks like a Mike harness to me.

EDIT: sorry, got you confused with the other guy.

Non pro owner here, my thought, I’m going to buy the TRD Pro right side light that says Trd and the non Trd pro one for the left side. They’re the same except for the pro lighting right!?

No, I think there is some differences in chrome/black inside the housings too. Someone else will have to confirm, but that is what I have observed.

Confirmed. You have to have a very specific sense of taste to care so much about pro but not about the visual differences in chrome.

I have the pros. I don’t regret it. I would have preferred double TRD but it’s still better than the offroad ones.

How long did the install take? My only worry is i break something while doing it. Watched some vids, looks like decent amount of disassembly. I already have the harness from xrunner guy a week after i got the truck too haha.

Not easy but not hard. I broke a clip or two. I include spare clips with my harness because of that. Allocate 6h and you’ll likely need only 2 even if you go slow. The rest can be beers while you watch the hazards flash in reverse sequential. If you hit a snag, stop and post up and we will help.

If you’ve done it before, I think 30 minutes is adequate time for the install and some basic aiming. It helps to know how things feel and what to look for and stuff. First time I would avoid rushing.
