Ok, I need someone who is going to convert their SR/SR5 to the OEM LED headlights. I am willing to ship the harnesses for free to anyone who actually has bought the headlights. If you have not bought the headlights yet, then sorry, but I want this set to be the proof of concept and not sitting on someone’s shelf in case they upgrade someday. You will need to buy 2- HDRL controllers and 2- VLR-6 resistors (these could be made to work with other resistors I suppose, but I made it for these as the ends just screw on) from VLEDS.com. Those parts will run you $60 (I never claimed this would be cheap, just that it was doable). So, for proving you have a pair (of headlights, of course) and $60 (+ shipping), you can be the only SR/SR5 out there with a fully functional set of OEM headlights that were all plug and play. And as much as I hate dealing with Molex, you may be the only one for a long time. Here is the harness on my SR with my super-custom “headlight”
    Stalk set to DRL-

    Stalk set to Parking-

    stalk set to Low beams-

    stalk set to high beams-

    And finally, the harness itself:

You almost make me want to buy a set of OEM LEDs just to try out your harness.

Found out that the TRD logo only illuminates when TAIL is selected.

I never really thought about it illuminating at all. It uses the tail function for the dimmed DRL though, correct?

I am buying the headlights for my SR5. Can the harness be made to light the logo?

The LOGO is part of the Parking/Tail circuit. So it's off when IGN is ON and emergency brake is set, releasing it, turns DRL's ON. When Parking/Tail is selected the LOGO illuminates.

Could you specify whether you're referring to the factory LED bulbs in the LED housings or the factory LED bulbs in the projection housings?
And now i'm wondering if there is a difference, wiring wise. Hmm.

This thread is for OEM LED assemblies. Halogen assemblies with LED bulbs need no wiring changes.

It will do as Caribe describes. The biggest difference in the SR and TRD is the lack of a dedicated turn and DRL circuit. They are combined on the SR. So using the HDRL from VLEDs, this harness separates them into 2 distinct circuits. Not the most ideal way of doing it, but much more user friendly than a series of negatively switch relays tapped off the ECU which was the other way this could be done.

I should also point out that on my test “headlight” it just shows which circuit is live. The parking circuit is what drives the DRL when the low beams are on. This is how they are on, but dimmed. Since my test is just indicator lights, it is kind of hard to show this. So when you see the RED parking light lit, the headlight would have dimmed DRL and illuminated side markers. When the BLUE DRL light is lit. The head light would have full brightness White DRLs lit. When the YELLOW turn is lit, the headlight will have illuminated amber DRLs. I couldn’t really catch that in a picture, but I’ll try to make a video of it in action.

    looks like a nice harness.

Side question - are the OEM LED emitters on the top side of the housing and emitting downward onto the reflector? The reflector shape is unique to me.

That, I do not know. There is a thread on here somewhere dedicated to the OEM LEDs, I bet someone there would know.

Yes downward facing emitters. Not easy to get a good photo.
