What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I think it’s what gets picked up on the microfiber towels itself that scratches that oh so gentle and bounty soft plexiglass. Mine’s not scratched yet, but I’m afraid to touch it. I did use a brand new microfiber the other day and it looked good.

You will notice a very delayed throttle response from 2nd Gen V6 to the 3rd Gen V6. The newer trucks are designed to get to 6th gear as fast as possible for mileage's sake but in doing that it puts you in a gear that has little response throttle-wise. There is something to take care of that issue though called a KDMAX tune. It changes the throttle response and shift points back to where they should be similar to the 2nd Gen engine/transmission. Until you can get it done though and get a 3rd Gen just press the ECT Power button after you crank it to get "almost" 2nd Gen performance from it. After the tune, the ECT power button becomes the "whiplash" button. After I got my 3rd Gen I told my friends and family I would pay someone $1K to get my old engine and transmission in this new body. Doing the KD MAX tune, I was able to do it for only $300.

I have a 2017 TRD OR Access cab with automatic and have only replaced the battery. There was not a fuel pump recall on this year. Once you get the OVTune done the 3.5L will come alive. Maybe not as lively as the 4.0L but much better to drive.

Brought my 2021 OR home from having a hood wrap and some retro stripes put on by RK Custom Wraps. Was going to make it all dark, but I am a child of the 70s and 80s.

 

Went from Tacoma Lifestyle sequential turn signals to Morimoto’s. I have @MESO V5’s in my future but I couldn’t wait to see what the Morimoto LEDs look like.

I got them right before the record heat here in Portland. They are double sided with silver to reflect heat in the summer and black for absorbing heat in the winter. They also do a really good job of blocking all of the windows, if you needed to take a nap or someone needed to change their clothes in privacy.

I'll look again but I didn't see an extra grommet near that location. LOL, if there is one I'm sure I'll find something to feed through it as I add stuff to the truck.

You don’t need to change the head unit. Adding an amp will give your speakers the power they are designed for. And you can also had a sub woofer and power that as well. I have a five channel amp delivering 250w per channel to each speaker. Stock is sending like 5w

 

I go on Friday for my 5000 mile check up and same thing at that dealer as well...it looks like they are closed

Ohio finally went to one plate and here was my solution for the holes left by the license plate holder (for now) , I took some extra license plate holder caps and painted them to match.
