Oh you wanted to see what was in the box....

Nice and simple, textbook nice welds and no sharp edges. Lol and shiny.

Since it's AL it may not be rated for driving like a rock buggy, but for what I do this should be more than enough especially since my front skid is the TRD Al one.

Received notification they were in stock on the June 25th, Ordered on Jun 25 at night, Shipped on the 29th, received today by Canpar.

So that was a fast turnaround... well except for waiting for them to be in stock...

Now to keep my eyes peeled for transfer case and gas tank skids....

DMM came in today too... :)

Now the hard part, getting time to put all this stuff on....

Nice. Pros and cons of aluminum just like pros and cons of steel. Seems like it will fit your needs.

I see what you did there….

Do you need to spray aluminum? Imagine if you don't need to paint it then it should be fine au natural.

It will oxidize but that is actually helpful. You don't have to do anything to it but who on this site has to do half of what they do?

believe the process is galvanic corrosion. Was tempted to spray the flatbed but haven’t bothered. Usually you should just have a barrier between any mating surfaces that are dissimilar.

I'll oil spray it for the winter,
was thinking about painting it black but figured the paint will get scratched to shit the first time I go off road, so didn't bother and just bolted it on last night.

Had to be the easiest thing to add to the truck yet, took all of 15 mins to bolt on.

Is this kit specific to leave the angled braces in place? Most I have seen they get removed, I've removed mine as well.

I have an aluminum 5 x 12 utility trailer that was custom built for me and what I have noticed is that there is a barrier between the steel hitch and aluminum tongue. There is also a barrier between the trailer frame and the attachment to the dexter torsion axle.

The front just slides under the rear of the front IFS skid plate, then two spacers are added there,
The rear that bolts into the same holes as the angled brackets also has spacers.

Those rear spacers drops the skid down low enough so it does not touch the angled brackets (probably about 0.010" clearance).

You can see the spacers in the plastic bag taped to the skid, those long wide ones are for the rear.. front round ones are for the front. They also give you 6 new bolts.

The other tranny skids probably don't have those 1/4" thick, spacers at the rear. So you'd have to remove those brackets so you can pull the skid right upto the cross-member.

When I did it I removed the 2 rear skid bolts on the front skid,
loosened the next two forward bolts in the middle of the front skid so the front skid drooped a little,
Removed the 4 bolts that are in the back of those angled brackets, then just slid the tranny skid onto the top of the front skid plate,
I though I'd need something to hold it up, but didn't, it sat there all happy with the front skid holding it, then just slid in the spacers and hand threaded in the bolts then hand tightened.

I don't recommend using an impact for these as the weld nuts inside the frame have been known to come loose with the sudden hit from an impact or air ratchet.

    File Attached the install instructions...
