He’s acting like it floated a valve lol. It’s making a sporadic funny noise. Half of the members on here have funny noises myself included. The trucks still run forever and take a shit kicking along the way.

If OP traded in his Taco for a Ram, i think all his issues would just go away.

Or a gladiator. Can fit 37s without trimming , vs the pussy 31.6” tires on the Tacoma.

But you're seeking the opinions (and accepting only those that confirm your bias) from a bunch of internet strangers who literally have zero stake in your vehicle??

Also, I like how this went from "I can't take it to the dealership because they're bad" to just "I don't trust nobody touching my preciouis!"

You have literally spent all day NOT taking the truck to the dealership.

I know Karens, I can sympathize with the struggle of the perfect latte, perfect shopping experience at Costco or fine dining night at Applebee's.

I'm a Karen at heart, but I know when to throw in the towel, which is why I traded my 3rd gen. There is a kicker, at least my Tacoma went to the dealer for the same issue multiple times.

I would like to be present for the free legal consult when the OP wants to pursue the lemon law but refuses to let the dealership try to fix the truck. Better approach is to demand a free Pro, requires way less effort.

OP- Not sure if this is related to your issue but here's a 22 page thread of a whistling/finger on wine glass noise when under load in 2-3k rpm that might be the noise you're hearing.

Everyone still trying to figure out what causes it, but apparently it's been around since 2016.
I posted a video of the noise in the below thread (along with other members with the same noise).

lemon laws are written in favor of the auto dealer..............U would think its for Consumer Protection

no less the customer must give the dealer ample opportunity to fix an issue

    not so much ‘ I PAID $$$$ & my expectations ( lofty/UNreasonable ) have Not been Met ..............

the dealer nor the manufacturer of ANY make model is going to roll over give something up for free

time in the repair bay is of little consequence

that tech/mechanic has to be doin something if not pickin his nose/ scratchin his nutz

    document ALL visits

get receipts for ALL work done or service inspections

after a reasonable number o visits & time

    take it to corporate

Some states are much more beneficial for the consumer. We bought a 2018 Odyssey (first year of current gen) in Nov of 2018…got a hell of a deal during model year end event. Turns out the van was riddled with electrical issues. Radio would turn off randomly and turn back on at full volume blaring static and couldn’t be turned off till you disconnected the battery (sooooo fun during rush hour!). Wouldn’t start randomly. Doors wouldn’t close. Doors wouldn’t open. Front doors would lock and not unlock…trapping your in the car. I put more miles on that van taking it to and from the dealer than actual miles enjoying the car. After 15 dealer visits, I told them I wanted to seek lemon status. This is really bad news for the dealer because they are shafted with the lemon branded vehicle and must sell it disclosing it is a lemon. The service manager didn’t give two shits about my threat. My salesman got his commission check so he didn’t give a rats ass. But the GM…he was scared shitless and was going to do anything to keep that vehicle from becoming a lemon. After a few discussions (it is now March of 2019) he offered us a 2019 Odyssey in exchange for our 2018 with 8,000 miles on it straight up. We thought, what the hell…what do we have to lose?? So we traded. Did the paperwork. Had to pay $8 to DMV to swap the tags. And we haven’t had a single issue in 42,000 miles on this van.
Point is, you have to be willing to give as much as the dealer is. I felt 15 trips in 17 weeks was enough to constitute a solid case for me. Granted each time, the dealer had a loaner available for me to drive home, I was still out thousands of miles of gas to and from the dealer. But that is what warranties are for right? Let the dealer be a dealer. That brand new truck had 7 miles on it when you got it. You weren’t the first person behind the wheel! Other people have driven it besides you. Let the tech try to make it right for you. Get it fixed. And enjoy the everloving SHIT out of that truck.
Or sell it and get a Ridgeline. Honda’s don’t have any issues at all.

Your correct, its the same opinion got owning my truck. Fortunately i got an extremely good one, it appears built, and tuned better than my buddies 2019 trd. It seems there is more inconsistency now between all these trims than the 4x4 trucks toyota built generations before.
