This harness is great for what it does, but getting the lights to work with the stalk unfortunately takes some added logic. I will be making another batch that will accomplish what you are looking for, but it will probably be a month or so. They are pretty labor intensive.

    Any idea on cost?

I just emailed the guy about them. It's been a long frustrating night trying to figure it all out. His pics didn't match mine so I had to work my tired brain a bit. Dropped a headlight, broke a tab on it. Super pissed about that! Also one of the supplied plugs came completely apart on me rendering it useless. Hell, 2 of the plugs weren't even used. So basically I paid $60 for stuff that doesn't work. Had to leave plugs unplugged and exposed to the elements. Also not to mention that when I was undoing the previous wiring that I had before (which I 100% should have just left, bc it worked) I accidentally can the oem harness on the drl plug that's on the truck, had to use butt connectors to fix which now looks horrible.

Fuck it's been a long night. When I installed these lights the first time and aired them up it took me maybe an hour. I've been out here for about 5 hours tonight.

Sorry to hear about all of that. Sometimes it’s best to just walk away, get some rest, and regroup :) I will still be selling the next batch for $150. After that, I should have a good idea of the actual time involved, and may change the price accordingly. They are just labor intensive, and the parts alone are over $100. That includes the resistors and the harness, but you still have to swap the 7440 turn signal bulb for LEDs. I don’t include those because I figure people probably like to make their own choices on them. And since I get everything at retail anyway, I would just be passing the cost straight on. You can see more here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/sr-sr5-to-trd-headlight-conversion-harness.728707/#post-25997263

As to these harnesses, I have been discussing a more plug and play friendly version with @Taco-Man18 so we will see if that can maybe become a V3? I know mine are a little on the pricey side, so it’s always good to have options.

Man I wish my timing was different lmao. If I woulda waited a month or so I would have seen your thread in my searches and woulda been able to snag one. $150 is pricy but I get why. And since it dies literally EXACTLY what I want it to, it'd be 100% worth it. So please let me know if/when you make more.

I hate that I had the experience with the ones I got from him but it is what it is. 2 of the plugs weren't even used, they matched up to nothing that was on my truck. And then the one just fell apart when I plugged it in. Super frustrating, among all the other bullshit that I dealt with tonight!

But please let me know about yours. Im a broke MFer but since I've already done this much (plus ripped my lights apart and painted them) I'm willing to pay to do it right.

Thanks for all your fast replys.

I get your frustration. It took me a while to figure out how to release the third wire from the turn signal that is being used for the new LED DRL.
It’s all working now but I just don’t like the fact that the DRL only work on the Parking setting which also supplies power to the side marker and rear license plate lights and dims the radio screen.

Definitely interested in that harness. Not sure if there’s a less expensive add-on option for people who already have the taco-man18 harness.
And yes, I already replaced my turn signals with LEDs.
Also, would I need additional resistors if I am already using some with my MESO total taillights?

I do believe you will still need resistors. When I first designed these, I didn’t think you would if you had resistors on the rear, but the testing I did proved that to be wrong. But you say you already have LEDs in the front? No resistors up there? You might be able to get away with then, I am not positive. I could always sell a set without the resistors, and if you get hyper flash, they can be added easily enough. And unfortunately my harnesses are pretty different than Taco-Man’s, so they don’t really work together. He does have a few connectors on his that I use, but I don’t know that it would save you enough to be worth it.

    Hey all,

Catching up with posts. So to quickly clear the air, the harness kit I came out, with was the first of any kind that allowed SR5 owners to come remotely close to what the higher models were able to do with the DRL headlight upgrade.

The harnesses were made based on all of the info I received from people and some of MESO's posts. So it would only work off of the parking light circuit with the radio having to be enabled for day mode; everyone understood that.

@Puppypunter and I chatted about a possible V3 to this, which is still a possibility. Me making the harness part is not a problem, but looks to be the extra that could possibly come with it ie. LED bulbs, resisters and what not. Whether people will want this included or will source them themselves.

What I include in my kit is the wiring for the DRL plug on the DRL headlight and a new 2pin turn signal plug; some people get their headlights with the turn signal bulb/socket and other don't and then get confused when they see it. The SR/SR5 and models above have a different turn signal connector.

Any way, please let me know if this helps and if there are any questions.

Also, @Dropkicknick Sent you a message; please let me know what I can do to help.

    Thank guys!

Props to you for doing it! I've told you via PMs that you were my inspiration. And I hope someone comes along at some point and improves it again. That IMO is the best thing for everyone, otherwise we would all be modding our Model T's  A lot of the things I build aren't really marketable. They either need completion in the field or are just price prohibitive. That is why options are good! And while there isn't an easy way around the limitations of the SR/SR5 DRL system, I think there will at least be a V3 that will be a little more plug-and-play friendly soon

    Hi guys!

I've been off the forums for a long while; been concentrating on other priorities.

I've been so far out of the loop; I don't know what's available to you guys now or if anyone has been able to make improvements.

But if V2 kits are needed please let me know, I have a nine V2 kits left. Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
