Science is the new world religion. It seeks to explain the unexplainable and if you disagree with the so called "science" its Blasphemy..and you will be persecuted.. by science I mean the basterdization of science where theory is presented as fact and truth is scewed to support theory.. hmmm.. kinda reminds me of what some people do to another religion..

    From CNN:

"Human-induced global warming is real, according to a recent U.S. survey based on the opinions of 3,146 scientists. However there remains divisions as to the extent of human responsibility.

Against a backdrop of harsh winter weather across much of North America and Europe, the concept of rising global temperatures might seem incongruous.

However the results of the investigation conducted at the end of 2008 reveal that vast majority of the Earth scientists surveyed agree that in the past 200-plus years, mean global temperatures have been rising and that human activity is a significant contributing factor in changing mean global temperatures."

As to equating science with religion, the difference is profound. The former relies on experiment and a process of verification by the senses and objective measurement. The later relies on personal, subjective claims of divine revelation which defy both our common everyday experience, and scientific explanation.

To the extent science is becoming a more popular way to know what is really going on in the universe, that is a good thing. False beliefs can endanger not only the one who holds them, but also anyone else who is affected by the person who acts (or refuses to) on the false belief.

Just a question for you guys.

What about the manual transmissions when it is really cold. I know when it is cold out my clutch feels like complete crap. Is it bad on the clutch to drive away with truck not completely warm? Like only 1 minute of warming up?

    Thanks in advanced.

Your Clutch is taking longer to disengage when it is cold enough to make your pedal be sluggish. it would be the same as you slowly letting out the clutch which is causing unnecessary wear and tear on your clutch. Mine does it when it is really cold as well. i just make sure to warm the truck up. the heat from the engine touching the tranny warms it right up.

    on another note:
they dont even have data for the last 200 years...how the hell are they going to base scientific research off guesstamatons???? refer to my prior post i have quoted below:

Dan I was making a joke. I'm of the belief that Al Gore and others are fanatics looking to make up a self-serving fictional cause. I don't believe in abuse of natural resources though.

Back on the subject: Actually sometimes if there is just a thin layer of frost the windshield I do a short spray from the wiper fluid. That stuff has an antifreeze agent and dissolves the water ice.

But wait - I just read that the enviro-nazis are now worried the the planet will be contaminated from wiper fluid. See the most accurate and true report on this in Wikipedia - Always True, Always Right. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windshield_washer_fluid :D

Ever noticed in a store with AC how cold it is in the morning before the mob arrives, and how much warmer it is when they get there?
Think of the earth as a store, with more and more of us arriving all the time.
    There's your global warming.....
Well, I'm not a scientist, but sounds good anyway.

CNN and religion? Of course collectively science sounds better, simply because of the ability to follow a logical process, regardless if the theoretical conclusion is accurate or not. A personal experience is just that, and can only be described, not shared. To "scientifically" confirm the validity of such an experience is impossible without empirical proof, just as it is impossible to deny it as well.
    Sounds good too...

Thats exactly what I am saying CNN is BS! All the Data to support global warming is based off lies! Then CNN goes.. its all a consensus... scientist agree.. NASA gets caught LYING! and scientist who dont believe in man made global warming do not get any funding and are harassed. It just so funny how people think scientist are never wrong.

Just like brake shoes, the clutch works better with a little use heat on it. Hydraulic clutch slave cylinder and the fluid inside is cold,, a bit sluggish also until some use/radiant heat is there.

No worries,,run it,, it's all you can do.

Thanks for the answer man. How do you think it takes to warm up the clutch fluid? I'm fine with putting up with the cold inside but I don't want to hurt the X. Also I just baby the truck when its cold out and I have only two stops then I am on the highway. How long do you recommend me warming the truck up for? I'm in school right now so I can't really leave class early to go warm up the car and I don't have an electric car started yet:(.

Thanks for the explanation. I always baby my truck when its cold so I could do with just a minute of warm up time? or even less?

    Thanks again.

there's times when i just get in and go and deal with it but i prefer to let it warm up. usually the clutch is good to go at the same time my cab is warm for me. at least that is what ive noticed.

I get the feeling that anyone who presents either facts or opinions that disagree with your beliefs (which appear to be based on nothing but your personal superstitions) is wrong.

In other words, whatever you believe, even if it has no foundation other than that you believe it, is the truth and no evidence of actual facts could possibly persuade you to change your opinion.

This is truly impressive. You are a virtual Gibraltar of intransigence in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary of your beliefs. Like minded people everywhere will praise your name as a steadfast hero.

    Congratulations!

At least everything works when cold. In my previous car, a Mazda Millenia, when it's below freezing, the traction control system stayed disabled a minute or two after starting, until it warmed up.

Honestly ive seen all this stuff online on various Global warming tree hugger web sites. I don't idle to warm up my truck because its never cold in Houston....but to not idle because its polluting is ridiculous, if you worried about the 3 minutes your truck is warming up get a prius.

I love that you called me a Hero.. lol.. no facts huh.. so what are your so called facts of man made global warming? is it the evil carbon dioxide that the plague of humans has unleashed on the world? we can't have carbon dioxide the building block of most life on the planet.. plants absorb it we eat plants then breath it out.. have you ever looked into solar flares effect on heating the planet? you know we did just come out of an ice age. I used to believe in global warming because all I knew was the crap that I was spoon fed by the corporate media. I understand how you could believe in man made global warming. The funny thing is you think I only believe in my personal superstitions. maybe your the one who only believes in personal superstitions but they are not your own. They are the superstitions of the people who want to control you and make you hate humanity. We are a infestation that needs to be wiped out.. or at least to manageable levels. Can you see my point of view? or am I a unthinking idiot? I would at least try to see things from my point of view even if you disagree because if you can then know you actually believe what you think you believe.

(here is a little start on your investigation into my "superstitions" and I know its Faux news but just forget your false right left paradigm thinking for a minute or two)

I hate getting sucked into these kinds of things but I couldn't help but to notice that one hundred words were just wasted on an ad hominem attack.

Moving on with my life now.

    Cheers
