So stupid question, with the trail having the locking rear diff does that mean it will also have A-TRAC? Not sure if these two features are integrated or if the A-TRAC is still separate and incorporated with the CC and MTS on the TRDOR. Wondering as I am looking at purchasing the trail and would probably never need full crawl control but from what I've seen A-TRAC is close enough and would do the trick.

My guess would be no, A-TRAC comes on the Manual Transmission OR and Pro.

The big deal is the brake booster or accurate interior shots. The 2022 Trail has a weird mish-mash of features. I'm kinda interested if it is vacuum boosted or if they threw in the electrically boosted system.

If vacuum boosted, it would just be regular TRAC which is pretty darn good as is.

Never mind. I scrolled through the video. Duh!

So, the Trail Edition is really a special edition OR not a special edition SR5 like the current one.

MTS and CC are on automatics only.

That's a weird one also. Given that it is basically an OR, they could offer a transmission choice this year.

    It’s not an OR though. It’s a SR5 with a rear locker.

But, an SR5 with an electric booster and a locker is an OR. :D

Oh I didn't realize that, thanks for clarifying. Trying to figure out if I'll ever really use CC and MTS in snow situations or of the 4hi and low will be enough.

I believe it’s an upgraded SR5, but still below TRD OR.

I think the trail edition is a direct response to consumer research. It’s basically a truck to go camping in, maybe hit the drive in. Lots of people are leaving the cities, and they also want to head out into the hills. ““True” tacoma lover” is not gonna buy one of these, unless they really want those rims. I hate the old OR rims, I have ‘20 pro rim and don’t really like the look of them, for one thing black is boring

The MSRP price difference between an SR5 and OR when configured the same is about $1900, once you add the Trail Edition upgrades for 2022 makes me wonder if it won't end up higher.

I just want the trail wheels to become available at the dealer. The minute I can buy a set I’ll be installing.

From what I understand, the trail being an SR5 means that it also has the SR5 suspension = not better than an OR in that respect.

I think Atrac is available on Automatic models. I know my auto 4R has it, and I'm pretty sure my tacoma OR auto does too.

They would have to install the Brake Booster and Master Cylinder from the Off Road or Pro in order to add A-TRAC to the Trail Edition
