What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Love this compressor. Fills up all four tires from 18ish to 35 psi in less than 30 minutes and fits perfectly behind the driver-side rear seat

 

To continue the black-out theme, I added the Steering Wheel emblem overlay- picked up from eBay and took about 3 weeks to arrive.

 

Looks like the microphone that comes with the Tundra GBS will work with the Tacoma GBS so I can fit it in a smaller switch. There’s got to be cheaper way to get this microphone, rather than cannibalizing it from another kit, but this will work.




Keep in mind you’ll need the Tacoma kit too, if you go this route. Interestingly no harness comes with the Tundra GBS, not that it would work on a Tacoma, but that means it’s all built it to the OEM harness in the Tundra.

 

Couldn’t pass up the deal on some front bumps. Waiting for some cmc plates and I’ll do them both at the same time.

 

New Teton workshop shifter

 

Got steel in for my transmission skid plate. Ill make a cardboard template and cut out the shape i need with my plasma cutter. This isnt a complex shape, no special bends. And i can make it fit the stock trd skid plate. 50 bucks shipped. Same thickness of the purchased skids i have.

Are you able to tuck it away in any compartments or under the rear seats?

 

My truck is in the shop so I can't prove it, but others have posted here that it will fit behind the rear seat. Will check when I get my truck back -hopefully tomorrow.

 

I have mine behind the rear seat as well.

 

Driver or passenger side? I have the JBL sub passenger side.

 

Driver side - I have a Pro, too.

 

The space behind the seat should be the same either side, but mine is passenger as the stuff I want quicker access to is behind the driver side.

If you worried about lacking room, there is a mod available to put a molle panel back there and remove the plastic piece altogether. Pretty simple, and there is a version that works with the sub. You can see it in the build thread I have going (post #12) and there is a link to the group buy as well.

Got the Alu-Cab Canopy installed today, then went for a drive at the LBJ Grasslands.
Very thankful to have a Alu-Cab dealer so close here in Texas. Great experience at CB Adventure Supply, and they keep lots of cool stuff in stock.

 

Hooke Road tailgate insert done. Did not have to modify the bump stops.

 

We loaded a 16' pod to the tippy top and stuffed the matresses at the back and squeezed tha door closed like a fat girl trying to zip up her jeans. No damage at all(you gotta know how to pack them). Had the cars shipped by carrier and drove the Tacoma from NoCal to East Tn with wife, daughter, 6 cats and a dog. I have to say it was the best long distance drive I have ever done. Did it in less than 3 days. The biggest issue was that I should have scheduled the pod drop off immediately instead of waiting till we got there. It took a few weeks and we had to use air mattresses and patio furniture for living.
