    What's up guys!

I got a quick question for you all regarding replacement LED bulbs. I ordered some interior LED lights for my 2021 SR5 Tacoma off of Amazon. Went to replace them today and all of the lights were replaced and worked fine after installation, except the dome light.

My first thought was to put the the light to off position which is when the doors are close and put the stock dome light back in, and no luck...

I then thought the issue could be the fuse, which I checked and all looked good.

I am not sure if the issue is the bulb or not, but the fact that the stock bulb doesn't work anymore makes me think it is something else. Is there any other fuses I should be checking? Or is it possible the LED is just bad?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!!!

    Did you trip any codes?
I’d go ahead and replace that fuse and try again. I don’t think these trucks need to worry about CANBUS issues.

Sometimes the switch will fuck up. The one on the actual dome light. Every once in a while I have to jiggle mine just right.

I think if you sift through the Meso dome light thread there were some people with similar issues. The lesson is to pull the fuse or disconnect the negative terminal from the battery prior to changing out the interior lights.

Well hate to say it but the master interior light switch was set to "off". The reason why I didnt notice this and was getting thrown off is because the map lights will still switch on and off even with the main switch off. Rookie mistake by me

Glad is was something simple. Just so you know, 12V battery voltage is still present at the dome light when you have that master interior switch off. A number of folks have shorted out installing an Led dome light causing a thin circuit trace on a circuit board in the overhead console to burn out, the fuse didn’t blow. That’s the reason people say always disconnect the battery negative or pull the fuse when replacing the interior dome light bulb.

Done that not long ago. Didn’t even know the master switch was even there. I was pissed because I thought mine was blown.

Oh, well that makes sense, I was picturing something wildly different when you first said that haha. Why isn't that circuit fuse protected I wonder.

The dome light circuit is fused as you know, but it appears not adequately since posts in the Meso dome light threads indicate the tiny circuit board trace has sometimes melted open on a short at the dome light socket.
