Since Toyota offers a lift now, not something I would get. Have they fixed the Needle Bearing vibe issue yet from the factory? Or is this something still needed after or at the time of lift?

I doubt the dealer will install the ECGS bushing, though. Toyota's fix will probably be to wait until the bearing goes bad, then replace it under warranty with a new needle bearing (which will also go bad).

At least I would assume they'd replace the needle bearing under warranty since it going bad would be caused by the TRD lift.

Some dealers will but not under warranty. There's a couple around here that stock the bushing.

Also, Yukon has a bushing on Amazon. That is the one that I grabbed and installed. Had vibes on the stock suspension.

I installed the TRD OEM lift last weekend. Haven’t felt the needle bearing vibrations (yet). I do have the ECGS bushing on hand though.

    yea,
My dealer wanted $700 to install my ECGS. They marked it as a 5hour job. I guess they had a turtle doing the work. I said no thanks

Shit! That is straight up insanity.

When I swapped it with some local folks, it only took us about an hour. I insisted on replacing the stock seal and goofed it up. So, I swapped the seal by myself in the garage. Going slow, that was only a couple hours.

It is a much simpler job that it is made out to be. After the wheel is off, it is just two bolts and some drifting with a BFH.

Not bad at all. In is the harder way because of the spring circlip. Opening to the bottom.

When I first put my lift on I tried pulling the CV with w a punch and pry bars. Bent my 4' pry bar! I'll have to use the chockers.

Yeah once you setup it’s literally about 1 min to get out. But stop swinging hard after it pops a little, once that clip compresses out of the groove it will come flying out

Don't use a pry bar. You need a hammer to release the clip.

I just put a pry bar on one of the notches on the CV and popped it with a hammer towards the outside of the truck, rotating the CV once or twice. No real issue removing it. I tried a cable slide, but that failed me.

Toyota did have a TSB for 16-18 front diffs for this, but I have no idea if they did anything different to the needle bearing itself.

I would just plan on a ECGS bushing. I did mine at time of lift install just to not deal with it later.

It was supposedly upgraded in that last TSB but folks still noted vibes.

Then you know what's what lol.

I guess one could search by needle bearing part number nad see if it is different, but...
I figured as much. Bushing is just too easy to not do at time of lift IMO.
