Possible also your HVAC/AC controller or what not is going out. while back my A/C basically stopped working but then kicked in later in the day. Its been mostly good since then but also noticed that some sets are off. in case it possibly is a gremlin causing it as well.

I hope not. I swear my older taco is more reliable than this one. That thing just works. It seemed once I turned the dial to max AC it kicked on. I will keep a close eye on it from now on.

hmmm that sounds like exactly what's going on with mine. My Max A/C and 2nd to highest no longer work. (sometimes it does) but as of now, I have to use second to highest. There is some stuff in the unit you can swap out that (I cant recall what it's called but it's $12 on Amazon). The other is the motor deal under the glove box. Mine is making noise and those are prone to failure too.

I don't know when (or if all 2nd gens have) the auto-A/C-on with MAX. What year is the other truck? Maybe the other truck has the MOD to disable this.

Im really surprised no one has done an aux fan for the ac, similar to the factory tsb. But also tied it to work when the coolant temp of the low temp circuit or supercharger circuit gets to hot. Bang one fan to cool them all.:tinfoilhat:

Aux fan over the condenser behind the grill?

Been seeing debates on whether push vs pull is better. havinga pull here to get benefits of the air while driving plus pull.

it would just be a 10" fan or so to help air flow across the condenser. so the push pull debate would not matter cause you would still have your main cooling fan.

When you say push/pull .... All you mean is that you're pulling air from the front across the condenser towards the engine, correct?

I have a 16" Mishimoto fan, recent removed from my Bimmer as I upgraded to a larger Spal fan. 30 + shipping, and great for testing. ;)

fans are set up to pull air through the radiator or push air across it. when set up to pull, it is place behind the radiator and pulls air through. when set up to push the fan is placed in front of the radiator and will push air across it.

i have 400watt fan that is pwn controlled from a bmw 320i its about 17-18" diameter. i though about using it for my truck, but im afraid it will not be enough. if it was 650 watt, no question i would just do it.

Not sure. Would have to look it up on Mishimoto's sight, for the E36.

Interesting. I was on the freeway with the coolant warm so the efan was on, I tapped the ac button and it was immediately cold. The way it acted the other day was like the compressor wasn’t turning on. I wonder if turning it on when there isn’t enough airflow gets the pressure inside the AC system to high and the truck kicks the compressor off until pressures drop. I will test again on my way home from work today. I guess if max ac won’t trigger it I will know to try a warmer temp. Does your ac light shut off or stay lit up?
The other truck is an 07 or 08, I cannot remember. But it does not have the max AC, you can just crank the knob all the way down and it won’t turn the ac on.

My 06 doesn't have that Max A/C featured.

Don't forget - if a fan is set up as a pusher, the fan itself is blocking a certain amount of airflow over the cooling core.

Take that into account when you size your cooler.

Push fan would be on the front say in a. Trans cooler scenario as it pushes air thorough and pull it’s on the back side pulling it through. I’m debating if I ant to add a fan when I do the trans but could go anywhere Depending on use.

Hmm on the setting now I get nothing but had a point where it would blow air really hot air then randomly kicked in.
