but what rubber do you have? Cooper ST Maxxes, Falcon wildpeaks?
there really isn't a "cheap" option that i can see that resolves this, but a simple one would be invest into new rims of some sort.
IIRC these are the 16s i run which are 16x8 with -12mm
    https://www.4wheelparts.ca/p/pro-co...ttern-flat-black-7069-6883/_/R-BKBQ-7069-6883

and these would be the 17s but are 17x9 with -6mm offset
https://www.4wheelparts.ca/p/pro-co...ttern-flat-black-7069-7983/_/R-BKBQ-7069-7983 (damn they got pricey... i paid a $130 per rim for mine...)

I think some 10mm spacers would be cheaper.

Hell yes! Probably going to go 2.0s 13x650lb with dobinsons leaf packs. really hoping i can stay closer to 1.5-1.75" lift with the setup, maybe remove a leaf if I have to.

more offset would help for sure. eventually when my winters EOL i will transfer my summers to those rims which are +10. part of me wants to keep the tucked offset for stone chips.

running 255/75/17 LT C Firestone Destination XT. They measure 32" bang on. I would not say that the rubbing is a normal use case occurrence as I have never seen this from (many)other times I have bottomed out, just this one occurrence that was severe enough to mess my alignment.

It looks like you have lots of clearance as it is though(judging by the pic) so my thoughts would be wheel bearing/ball joint/bushings for your wheel to be able to push in that far to be able to touch

Its about 1 1/4" clearance. Under the binding loads and fully compressed geo (i believe it goes into -ve camber) of a full hard stop bottom out it seems reasonable that the bushings and other parts would flex enough to allow this.

Try jacking your truck up and checking clearance lock to lock at full droop.

The less offset you have the more it pushes the wheel out. So if you go from a 30+ to a 20+ You’ll be gaining 1cm of clearance.

as you said it will affect stone chips and how dirty everything gets. Running -38 here and the truck gets terrible.

    further to add my experience,
the -12mm i have is still fairly ok in our wheel wells. the tread itself is within the wheel well but with the cooper ST MAXXes, just the sidewall finds itself outside of limits of the truck.

i dont have that exact angle, but you can see it in the front here; upload_2021-8-24_11-49-33.jpg

with that said next time i get new rims, i don't see myself getting anything beyond -12. most likely anything between 0 to -10mm

So stop worrying about it. :)

As a point of reference, my 265/75-16 Goodyear Duratracs rubbed the paint off the SPC UCAs at some point in the suspension cycle, this is with normal alignment. I had 2nd gen factory TRD OR wheels with +32mm offset. Your 255-wide tires just rubbed slightly less often. The high offset wheels are simply marginal with 32" tires.
