Lost my keyfob, no backup. What are my choices?

Hello i have a 2020 tacoma, push button start, i have the techstream software and the cable.
Its my understanding from researching this forum i can add a keyfob but i need a prgrammed one to do this.
Am i correct? Dealer wants $70 to program a keyfob.

What are my options?

Yes you need a working key fob. It is my understanding without a working key fob the truck would need what’s called a reseed. And that’s something the dealer would have to do I beleive

 

2020 Tacoma and now you have no "keys" left?

I'm sorry to say you're out of options, tow it to Toyota and have (2) new ones made and hope like hell they're not backordered

 

$70?! Damn, dealer charged me $90.

yeah, you have no fobs left? I thought you need one in order to program one? Just what I’ve seen on YouTube when people use techstream.

70 doesn’t seem bad for programing. Maybe I’m just use to euro cars and the hundreds they charge for it. A dealer wanted 400 for a 1999 911 fob and program.

My truck came with 2 key fobs. How did you only get one?

 

Could be a stolen truck.
These kinda questions pop up on different forums — “lost all my keys need new ones” — when questioned you find out the truck is overseas somewhere.

 

the original buyer put a 38 under his chin and blew his brains all over the headliner and backglass. I purchased the vehicle from copart.com as a salvage biohazard vehicle, unfortunalty he didnt leave me but the one keyfob he left behind.
Just for the record when you do this the heart doesnt stop pumping blood until you run out, blood went down the seat, pooled around the seat bolt into the floorboard went under the carpet and padding. Had a bit of an odor!
Anyone still think its stolen?

You should be able to clear all keys and then program the one you have as a master. Happens all the time. As long as you have full access to your tech stream software

How do we know that it was a 38?

coroner report, all his personal information was still in the truck, glasses, door opener, etc, all documents, there was even a memorial for him.
i have ALL his information, here are some of the pics copart had, the seat shows what came out of his mouth

 

there is still brain matter on the headliner, i picked off a spec at a time, took the seat apart and soaked it in my bathtub, had to replace the carpet and padding as there was maggets under the carpet padding. It was a real chore taking that truck apart to remove the carpet and padding. I added heated seat controllers when i had the seat took apart, works great. His name was Doug and i have yet to see him in the rearview mirror.
Im sure his widow has the other keyfob but didnt seem appropriated to call her, imagine if i just showed up driving that truck and opened her garage door and pulled in.......i would never do that but im betting she would faint!

 

How would i know if i have all access with my software? I have hooked it up to the truck before trying to shutoff that damn alarm, finally took the cluster out and removed that damn speaker, really nice and quiet now.
