Did you have any issues getting the panels back onto the interior with all the added material?
That's always something I've wondered about when adding all the MLV in particular because it's decently thick

Your fab shop does great work. I've always been impressed with how it's turned out on your truck like on your swingout.

    Thanks guys!
    Will do !

I just put the fenders back on. I'm going to try and heat and bend the liner back a bit.
The shop charged me 1k to do the welding. The Shocks were 1200 .so probably 2500 for everything. Flip kit brace kit ect.

Had to go to a new shop the other one wasn't really doing any side projects right now. But the new welds look good. There just pricey compared to the other place.
I really need to get better at welding so I don't have to keep paying out so much.

the only area that gave me a little bit of a fight was front bolts of the rear seat of the double cab and the back section of the center console. Nothing serious enough to prevent me from being able to bolt everything back together. I didn’t add MLV near the mounting points for the front seats so I had no issues there either. Super happy with how quiet the cab is now. My exhaust is still super loud though I may try to find a way to tone it down some. My fault though, I have DT headers, high flow cats, and an MRBP turn down cat back. Might switch to a side exit tail pipe and see if that helps.

Here's the work involved, if you're interested in doing it yourself. A bunch of us now run essentially this same setup, which I'd say Speedytech7 put on everyone's radar, and then I got ADS to build the first set of 10" shocks for the rear. It's turned out to be a great setup for 1st gen Tacomas.

How-To: Toyota Tacoma Rear Shock Relocation

    upload_2021-8-30_10-57-10.jpg

I think Mike @Digiratus has the prettiest setup, since he has the bypasses and piggybacks.

This is another one of thing that has been on my to-do list. I’ve had the parts for years now, just never had the time.

That is a super nice setup @Digiratus

if you have offset wheels or spacer you can get away with mounting an even longer shock outside of the frame with hoops

I totally sent the fab shop your link on how it's done. Thanks for all your and everyone else's efforts in putting that together.

Here what mine looks like from behind.

It's hard to see but the plating was tied into the shack mounts also.

I like this idea too. Do you rub your shock bodies when flexed?

edit: I have 1.25” spacers on the front and rear.

I definitely had the benefit of learning from the mistakes of others. It turned out just about perfect.

when i first put them on when absolutely fully flexed the tire just barely touched (2" spacer with 35x12.5" tire) not enough to even rub the sticker off. after that i placed a couple washers on outside of shock to move it in towards frame like 1/8" and i have seen no signs of touching since.

I’d have to run glass with a 12.5. My 10.5’s throw too much mud for me as is.

Needa find a wheel that will keep 285’s about where my current tires are.

I'm not fooling anyone, I have no idea what I'm doing beyond standard vehicle maintenance. Most of the previous modifications were done by previous owners. All maintenance done by local shop. Purchased at 228k miles for $3900; younger ~120k 2.7L engine installed at 230k for $9k...ouch. 31" Toyo Open Country M/T Replaced previous shocks/struts with KYB Monomax at 233k miles. Looks to have a 3" body lift in rear. Leaf springs seem to be sagging quite a bit. Currently have a rattling left front wheel (I'm told it's the CV joint and/or axle). Goals: Fix front left CV issue. (Diff drop?) Refresh leaf springs. Build a sleeping platform for comfort camping/base camp. (Auxiliary power?) Replace bench seat with 60/40 preferably or reupholster. Tackle more trails. Improve ride without excessive modifications to classic look. Debating winch/light bar. Don't break more things. Competing interests: Possibly want to buy a house(boat?) Want to enjoy the PNW non-motorized outdoors. Want to acquire pricey toys to propel myself down mountains.
What has someone else done to my Tacoma today? Attempted grand theft auto.

Now my key won't fit in the ignition.

Take the switch off the back of the ignition assembly, and then You gotta figure out a way to stop the steering wheel from locking.
