I think you’re starting to way over think this lol. I am not concerned in the least. I just know the h70’s aren’t going to be enough. If push comes to shove, I’ll tune. I’m pretty damn sure the HD’s won’t be as stout as my U402’s. And I made them work.

I'll wager it'll sit fine new, tune compression up to compensate for weight and the springs will eventually flatten because its still not enough. Then they're right back to square one. Deaver will be happy for the repeat business and stimulating the economy.

....aaand I think you haven't put enough thought into it. This stuff isn't intuitive or easy to figure out alone. We're all here on this forum for a reason, we don't have all the answers. I'm sure there's a zillion stupid things I've done in haste or Harry did to shut me up (in which case a zillion is a gross underestimate), but that's the process.

I agree with the custom leafs thing it's like finding that perfect spring rate for COs Alcan, Deaver, etc can all make you a nice custom pack. The only issue is they aren't as cheap as CO springs and without actually knowing your corner weights for which you want to spec them out for it makes it a little hard especially with the wide range of variables in which these trucks weigh and what each person has done to add weight to it.

Well, when you can tell Deaver how to make me a spring that will be perfect unloaded then perfect when I have 400lbs in the bed I’ll be a little more attentive. Because they really didn’t have an answer other than the HD’s.

I actually do have corner scales. Oddly enough, I’ve never put them under the truck.

Correct, this is not possible. You would need a race pack and then adjust ballast so the weight is constant. Fairly certain this will be an issue for me too when the bigger tank goes on and adding the 2nd spare. Might even ditch the HC bumper for something lighter. When I added the HC and tailgate plate, it was to add weight out back for stability. It helped but the SUA was the answer for me.

It’s all about reasonable expectations. There has to be compromise when it’s still a daily driver. When the day comes that it’s no longer a daily, is the day I chase perfection. All I know is the SUA is going to be a hell of a lot better than the current setup. And that’s all that matters to me.

THIS! Managing expectations. Sooo many "life" problems are unrealistic expectations and the temper tantrum fallout.

This is the reason the rear shackle mounts have so much adjustment. You can fine tune the spring rate/ride height in with the hanger to suit a much wider variety of needs

That's honestly one of the big things that sold me on your SUA. If it sits too proud unloaded I have options. If it sags too much loaded, I have options. Not being 100% locked in on a certain ride height or ride quality is huge.

it's too easy to add shit, much harder to lose it. We'll see. Also shipping from the Golden Sunshine Promisedland to a backwoods address is gonna be a grip.

Anyone here running a wider track width in the rear? Gotta put spacers on the back to clear shocks and i dun wanna deal with more spacers than i have to or go chopping errythang up in the front. Figure it'd probably worsen understeer a lot. Any other input on handling effects it'll create or no-no's?

Only because he said no I'll chime in and say I have 1" spacers on the rear to match the front width. Many, many miles with no issues.
