Well, I've had enough of the vibrations and shuddering since my lift. I've had numerous alignments done, carrier bearing drops, and shims with no such luck. I'm sure the propper combination is out there, but quite frankly I'm tired of looking for it. I have a local shop not much more then 10 minutes away from me that has come highly recommended to me to outfit my Taco with a 1 piece. These folks actually did work for 4wheelparts back in 2005 when local Toyota dealerships had a few of their Tacomas lifted by them. 4wheelparts had one piece drive shafts put on all of them since they too were experiencing the vibes on all of the lifted Tacomas.

I go in tomorrow morning and will pick it up later in the day. My expectations are high here so I really hope they can be met. Wish me luck!

Curious to hear the results. I'm getting very tired of the shudder/shake I've had since my lift, and like you I've tried all the easy fixes to no avail.

So we're going to want to know:

    Single or Double Cardan

How did they set up the pinion angle, and what axle shims were used if any.

Any changes at the transfer case mount

Whether greasable zerks were supplied on the new u-joints

How it all works out in terms of solving the problem, both at low speeds and highway speeds.

Anything else we want him to report back to us, guys?

I don't have a lifted Taco, but I had a vibration in the driveshaft of my '87 T1000 (Chevette with Pontiac badge). We took the driveshaft to a local shop and had the driveshaft dynamically balanced just like a tire shops do on their balancing equipment. Then we findled with installation, we rotated the shaft on the splines for the input shaft of the tranny which all but elimanated the vibration. Just a thought.

yup, I'll get all the info and report back. Driving home from work today really got me excited since my vibes were in full effect. I have the take off shudder, the 15-35 vibration and 50-65 mild vibe. It would be easier to say that I do not vibe from 40-49 :D
