Does this contractor have so much work that was promised he is bouncing between jobs like a ping pong ball.

he doesn’t sound Amish. You need a guy named Ishmael to work on your pole building.

sorry this is happening, I work really hard to fight the contractor stereotype, but there is just too many asshats out there to fight

I say this all the time about contractors “if you aren’t busy you aren’t good” anyone who says they can start next week….run

What I think contractors are doing is, starting as many jobs as possible to get that job locked in with a down payment. This means they get some in-flow of cash, and ALL jobs will be late and run behind schedule. Once a job is started, they got ya! Cause' what home owner wants to start over again with another contractor, it's a hassle. Just a guess from recent experience.

The few times that I have had to hire somebody for home improvement (I have a number of family members who do most of the work), the time schedule has never been met. I had a guy years ago pour a new porch and then make sidewalks around the house. We had an agreed upon date. he didn't meet it because... he ultimately admitted that he had other projects to work on at the same time when I confronted him, so he could not come every day to get my job done. Surprise. That's the way most contractors work. A written contract with penalties for not finishing on time is a great idea. If a contractor wants to bullshit their customers and promise a finish date, knowing they won't meet it, then they should be ready to receive less money. The alternative of course is to be honest, but then many people would look around for another contractor if they were told a 2 week project will take a month or more.

This 2014 Tundra has over 100K miles on it and has been on the lot for close to a month; They were originally asking like $36K and they marked it down to like $33K...

Unsurprisingly, people were still not biting so they dropped another grand from the asking price...
