A couple from this weekend’s trip. It was perfect out for some hiking during the day as well

Yes, it is. One of the original black sets from ~3 years ago. It’s held up well and saved a bunch of pinstripes.

    Sometimes camping is hard.

Breezed up a bit during the night in western Wisconsin.

Toppled the wife and I right over, and then soaked us with rain as we beat butt to get into the truck for safety.

Pulled out the pegs, and bent them. Tent pole is a bit wonky. I'll get to that ;-)Wisconsin wind .jpg

Now that's something I can get behind. Was finally able to do some backroading and camping this year, after 3-4 years of no road trips whatsoever.

Awesome! Headed out to the west coast and back late December through early January. 23 day trip, biggest one so far. How was finding camp spots along the way?

How'd you know? Sure is. This place is awesome!

Bet that felt good after so long of being couped up. Where'd you go?

    Oh man…
Quick overnight to make sure the annex works well in the rain before a couple long trips coming up, definitely a game changer. Takes a bit to set up but honestly not as bad as I thought. 20 min, nice and dry area. I need to find an awning for the back, just used a hammock rain fly to stay dry for coffee/cooking… wouldn’t have held up to a heavier rain

We just looked at the Rand -McNally road atlas (2011 version) for the tree and tent symbols. There was always a brown sign on the roadway when we got close ;-)
State parks are pretty reliable in format. Some have tent only sites, some don't . They usually have showers, but are seasonal. This year the expectation was for on-line reservations prior to arrival. But we slipped checks in the self registration boxes at all the places we stayed. Quite a few all in all. No problems. Next time we are planning to bring more electric "stuff". and use the RV power outlets. A heating blanket would have been very nice on that 37 degree and raining night at 10,000 feet ;-) Only $5 more .....

Here’s a few pics from this summer, mainly in Colorado - some of the trails scared me to death, but the camping was worth it.
