Of course. Baja designs, pretty much everyone does. This worked for my needs. I only use red (to maintain night vision) and white. 20211006_191707.jpg

    Thanks:cheers:
The softopper does a good (not great, but good) job of keeping out the dust. Even with me sealing the tailgate gaps, dust finds its way into the little gaps however it is greatly reduced. As for rain I seam sealed the crap out of the topper, and the straps (they wick water into the topper). After the loads of seam sealer it is pretty water tight, but I live in So. California so we don't know real rain. I also insulated it and have a little buddy heater as it gets cold wrapped in metal.

Kinda. I used a gasket around the bottom of the tailgate, and up the side pillars.

There used to be a crazy draft that this eliminated. Can't really show a pic of the seam sealing, but attached one of the insulation.

Can't think of a better place to post this, don't think its worth a whole thread.
I need new LCA ball joints, I want OEM but cannot get them from the dealer unless I buy the entire arm, I thought I had seen a thread where someone found a source for OEM ball joints. 2008 6 lug 4x4 trd sport.
I AM NOT INTERESTED IN AFTERMARKET BALL JOINTS.

Ah okay and that works pretty well with the dust? I mean anything to either eliminate or have very little is better than nothing right? Lol always try to eliminate or have very little is the goal. When did you get your softopper?

I've had the topper for a couple years, and really do love it. There are pro's and cons, as there are for hard shells but it works great for my needs, and looks sweet. The gaskets around the tailgate were more for my comfort (with a short bed you gotta take any little comfort gains because they are inherently uncomfortable @ 5'). They helped me trap in more heat, and the dust reduction was a bonus.

I'd like more details on your mounting of the compressor. Is there a thread on it? Any details you could provide on the installation?

Added the cheapo Cree LED fog lights off Amazon for now, just as I really like having something that gets the corners at night when I can.

It’s hard to tell from the picture, but they totally made it at least 5% better!! In all seriousness though, they helped.

Just don’t do what I did, and forgot to buy the pair .

I also discovered that my skid plates are also Pelfreybilt, something I had failed to notice when I got the truck. It’s taken a nice hit dead center on something at that, eventually I’ll take it off and beat that back into shape. 169F882C-F610-406E-9B5A-6367BABD63DF.jpg C7A01E32-D7E2-4BE9-A161-BCEA11C741FD.jpg

Sure, I was bored reading through the OBA megathread and found post #17. I love a good way to utilize empty space and needed something to do with my hands so I ordered the VIAIR 88P and off I went.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/oba-on-board-air-mega-thread-bs.299523/

First off, the 88P only has 2/4 feet that can be mounted so in this picture you can see I just used a zip tie to keep the bottom half tucked up tight against the backing. This panel I mounted it to is like 1/8" metal so I'm pretty sure that only 2 bolts will be fine, used some small washers just to distribute the nut a bit more because I don't think i'm ever removing it lol.

    upload_2021-10-8_11-48-18.jpg

The 88P has a built in hose so I had to cut and use a hose repair kit to cut to length I wanted that is ran to my tow plug, sandwiched the metal plate with the repair kit male plug and this universal 1/4 plug.

    XO-hTN5AXHXdqeLYZyB7ra2Gi0d3WA0v4cQU8u9i_a824a20e6bae404b846dfd39c915b8e880513d52.jpg

For power I already have power panel in the passenger side cubby so I tapped in a 40amp relay into it. Then ran a 18AWG signal wire to my control unit in cab to send power through the relay.

Relay below just bolted to the side of the box.

My suggestion would just replace the whole LCA. I did my lower ball joints in the spring and now the bushings on my LCAs are shot and I have to replace the whole thing now. Save yourself some time and just whole set up.
