My 2016 Taco Sport is having a weird issue where the wiper fluid is being deflected before it hits the windshield. I haven't had a front end accident or anything like that. I lifted the hood and tested it- they aren't clogged. When the hood is down in normal position and I spray, the fluid hits the plastic trim piece that sits in front of the wipers. I've checked to see if it's lifted up somehow but it doesn't seem to be. The fluid sprayers don't seem adjustable unless I'm missing something.

Anyone ever have this issue or am I the only lucky one? Any solutions?

    Thanks for any help!

those spray nozzles are adjustable. Take a sewing pin and stick it in the nozzle hole and adjust the angle of spray. Easy-peezy fix!

@Buck Henry is right about the adjustment, but I'd suggest double-checking that it isn't clogged or obstructed. After some serious mudding around I had the same issue with a funky wiper fluid nozzle. Wiped it with some rubber alch and sprayed the wiper fluid a few times for a couple seconds and the clog popped out.

You know, I did. Never thought of that! Did the guy accidentally move something or adjust the nozzles?

I'll try the pin adjustment. Thanks everyone!

Didja ever take a wiz and end up hitting the side of the vanity instead of the bowl? Same thing is happening with your nozzles. Something is deflecting the flow.

Yes, adjustable nozzles has not been a Tacoma thing for a long time...

Really; wow! Why did they have to go and fuck up such a simple and functional design?

It saved 37c per unit built, allowing an additional cupholder to be installed.

And most folk are clueless about things like this. It's why things like real temp, oil and voltage gauges ended decades ago, changing to idiot lights. o_O

I had the same issue when my windshield was replaced. I had the company that replaced it come back out and after convincing them this was a result of their work (took a minute), they fixed the issue MOSTLY. My passenger side gets about 50% of the fluid that my driverside does now-- I am going to try the thumb tack/sowing needle solution now that I see this is not just me.

How did they fix it? Reading through the link posted above, there are different angled nozzles but when I looked them up they range $18 (plus shipping) to $28 each. If there's a way to fix them I'd prefer to do that. Thanks.

I dropped my truck off at their shop, but I was under the impression that they just had to adjust the plastic cowl (?) trim. I should have asked, but that is what he was messing with when I showed him the issue

Thanks. I'll look into how to do that. The windshield was fixed like 3-4 months ago. I doubt they'll accept responsibility by now. I have barely needed the wiper fluid (driving less, summer weather, etc).

SafeLite is coming Monday to fix. Could someone with a properly installed cowling possibly post a photo of the size of the gap between the cowling and the hood? That way I could show them how it should look. Would be much appreciated!
