A Milwaukee 1/2" impact is what got me started; didn't help when Miguel would text me every time Home Depot had a good deal on Milwaukee tools:spending:

Northern tool has good deals out here all the time. I’m running snappy till all my stuff at work dies. But the tools we keep at the farm are all Milwaukee these days. Old dewalt at home keeps kickin too

@Speedytech7 I guess people have time on their hands with the holidays to talk about suspension builds and argue about keeping AHC or to get rid of it. I think people may be less tolerant of it during the winter months. Maybe because it is cold outside and people are less likely to want to fuss with a malfunctioning system. Though I see at on average one to two conversations each week. After a while, there won't be enough of it left for Toyota to stock replacement parts for it. Especially when I've seen other seemingly more usable and important parts hit the NLA list.

I think a lot of the arguments on each side of the debate are fueled by businesses that have garages to support repair and installation operating with regular screen names. Then I see a slip in a post that says "we have a shop in Denver and will be glad to help you with your AHC problem". How about an unbiased opinion for a change?

I have a couple DeWalt grinders that are going strong and they were used when I got them . No complaints about any of their other tools...

I wish DeWalt had an electric ratchet though

Ha, I remember you saying that last year about the ratchet.

How long have you had your grinders? I'm considering going yellow just for their grinders.

I picked em up about 3 years ago from a pawn shop, not sure how old they are

Afterwards I gave away all my $10 HF grinders that still worked but had screaming bearings

Don't forget that you can make an offer and negotiate prices

I think I paid $25 and 35 for the two I bought which I'd consider a deal. I bought a 3rd cordless one which was a brick but I'll take the L on that one for being too lazy to go home and get a battery to test with

    So I have 2; 1 M18 Fuel and 1 corded.

I even posted about it in the Milwaukee tool section.

I had an HF grinder way back and using my Fuel, I felt it was too loud but in a screech type manner. Makes my tinnitus start acting up even.

It vibrates like crazy even when just running a flap disc to get off some mill scale off a flat surface.

I tried an old, school-owned Dewalt and that thing is significantly smoother and quieter than both Milwaukee tools.

Yeah, some NVH isn't a big deal but when your hand is gripping a MIG gun for hours it's easy to start cramping and that vibration is multiplied.

Are any of them the DCG413 XR model?

That thing is smooth as hell.

Yeah, I don't like that shit either -- it sounds like the bearings shit the bed already :(

For quick projects it's easy to tolerate but I agree it sucks when you're working with it all day.
