What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

It is pretty difficult if you have never worked with Vinyl. Its alot of trial and error and alot of picking up the wrap and heating and laying back down. Mine is not perfect.....

This is about how i feel lol. Mine is same way. Hood was alot harder than TG!

 

My alternator seized up and fried the (previously) brand new belt. It cranked slowly then fired up, battery light came on in the dash, then the delightful smell of burning rubber.

I had been thinking, "Hmmm... should I swap out the alternator with a rebuild and keep the original as a backup?" but I of course said "Nah, sounds like they don't go out too often." Darned that Murphy guy!

In any case, glad I didn't take the truck up to the foothills over the weekend. And VERY glad it didn't go out while I was in Death Valley last month.

 

Tearing the bed off.. and prepping for some new ish. Gonna swap out my dual arb compressor for a single while I have it apart since I only really use it for the rear locker and can shave about 10-15 lbs between the two.

I had it off and apart. Still hard! I thought i was getting a hang of things, then heated too much and stretched the vinyl too much. Then back to repairing the part you just messed up

I installed the Meso Customs Gas Hole and Dual Colour Map Lights today. Easy and looks great.
The screw for the has hole was tight. Using the right tools, it was very easy to remove. I had read about a few people having trouble removing it and stripping the head out.
I used a no.3 Phillips on an impact driver, came out with no effort.

 

I have a single I'm not gonna be using, hunnerd dolla billz and it's yours, but it'd probably take half a day to fill 4 33s I'd imagine

 

they are made by Maxxis and they are a short course non dot race tire. They came on the set of wheels I picked up and they work pretty decent in the desert so far.

 

Did the trans drain and fill today on my 2014 with 59K miles... Easy as can be.

Hey, I'm curious which Alpharex model headlights you removed. Because in looking at the Nova series right now and would like OEM output or similar.
