So anybody go from 6.0 SLT to Max Pro and feel it's much better. And the Pro has a lower RPM limit . Right ?

Yes it is better, and Yes the limiter is lower 6500rpm. Wide open throttle shifts are around 6000-6300rpm. It really PULLS!

I have ran all 3 throttle settings multiple times. On my truck it seems if you can drive normal keeping under 70 and not mashing the pedal from light to light (This a lot of fun) my truck gets better mpg on all 3 settings.Again driving habits and mods are different on every truck so mpgs will very.

    I agree with Dave.
The tune is the same, only the throttle sensitivity is different.
So the MPG's are the same, depending on driving habits.

    Big shout out to @PapaRee

I attempted a flash in a parking lot from my iPhone Hotspot. VfTuner wasn't playing nice and my Taco wouldn't start. @PapaRee saved my stranded ass by giving me a call and getting me back running (Force Flash on stock tune).

Moral of the story. Flash in the comfort of your home/garage and on a stable internet connection.

    Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving folks.

I Pm'd @PapaRee on Sunday at 4:48 inquiring about upgrading to KDMax Pro from KDMax 7.0 and had the file by 4:55. Probably a bit of a coincidence that I caught him on TW, but nonetheless, that's what I call service.

I flashed my 21 Sport on Monday morning at work and jumped on I70 after work to head the 120 miles or so to Denver for the Colorado Avalanche game. As soon as I entered the on-ramp, I could immediately tell the difference in the Pro tune. Acceleration was smooth, and shift points were spot on, and although noticeable, they were still smooth considering I had reset all of my values before I flashed. Twenty minutes later, I was on my way up Vail Pass and noticed that the truck was holding power better in all gears. Although it took some pedal jamming to get it to downshift, after I turned on ECT, everything was great, and I was able to hold 70+ up the pass without the truck constantly shifting.

As the drive went on, things only got better, with my wife commenting on how well the truck was holding speed with reduced shifting/jerkiness.

The rest of the drive, including heading up to the Eisenhower/Johnson tunnels, was excellent, with shifting getting more reliable and smooth as the trip wore on. Entering Denver, I encountered heavy rush hour traffic, where in the past it was hard to ease into the throttle without surges or dead pedal while in continuous stop-and-go traffic, now it was smooth like butter with no noticeable throttle dead spots or jumpiness.

After leaving the game, I had to punch it to get into traffic, and acceleration was smooth and predictable with no surges or differences in acceleration regardless of the RPMs.

Since the day I flashed the first version, I have been a fan and proponent of KDMax, but the new Pro version firmly solidifies my belief that everyone who has any driveability complaints needs to get this done. For anyone who drives in the mountains, you can feel my pain going up and down high mountain passes on a stock tune, and I can confidently say KDMax pro will make you smile. :):)

As many have said before me, this is the best mod you can get for the money.

Get VFTuner or find a KDMax tuner from the first page and get it done as soon as possible, you won't regret it. Thanks, @PapaRee, and @TWTaco for all of your work and excellent service.

    - More low-end torque. Yes!
    - Improved gas mileage. Best MPGs so far! (As always, NOT Guaranteed.) +2mpg highway with lots of learning still to do.
    - Octane learning from 87-93 octane--no more Regular and Premium versions. Yes and Yes
    - Improved/smoother shifting. Whoop! Whoop!

I have the TRD exhaust and it sounds beefier with the tune and loving that its all octane compatible. Still in testing but I swear it feels better every time I drive it.

Luckily I have VFTuner so I've used them all and can switch easily. They are all great depending on your wants and needs. For my daily driving, I am generally on Lite Throttle, especially this time of year when there is snow on the roads. (although it has been really dry in the Colorado Mtns this fall/winter) If I wasn't dealing with snowy and icy roads, I'd be using the normal throttle setting. Sport is super fun but doesn't suit the short daily route I drive to and from work.

Not sure if it's just in my head, but I agree that the TRD Exhaust sounds different/better on KDMax Pro.

I just ordered the Pro Tune for my '21 TRD OR. I have the vftuner & connecting cable and have previously downloaded the KDMAX tunes on my Taco without a problem. After reading this thread I am a little concerned about having to update my ECU and whether I need to buy addt'l software to flash this latest Pro Tune. Any suggestions are appreciated.

On your 2021 if the build date is June 2021 or after should be ECU 04C21 you wont need to update. Build date is on the driver door jam.Verify your ECU with your vftuner before trying to flash a tune file.
