    You're welcome!

I'm glad that it all helped you out.

It makes sense for Magnuson to only support the latest calibration, but that should definitely be in the front of the instructions.

About to flash mine to the latest hopefully today so I can load KDMax. Tech stream is talking to the truck as I programmed a smart fob on my 2020.

So just to be clear after all the windows settings are correct from the OP, with key off double click the file and follow the instructions??

yeah, that was the main issue for me… no warning at all. Finding out after the install put me in a little bit of a panic. Luckily you put in the hard work on this this thread which saved my ass… very thankful for that. I don’t know what I would’ve done otherwise, as the truck really wasn’t drivable.

I guess in Magnusons defense they say to install the tune first, before attempting the install. Surprised that no one else ran into this problem in any of the supercharger install threads.

I got a network connection error message in the beginning, but I just hit cancel… something about needing to retrieve messages. Not sure if that’s covered in the first post. Maybe it is and I missed it.

I updated a local person since they wanted to try the N/A tune before the S/C.

Since folks get a tuning kit, it does at least make it easy having all the tools.

Yeah, I had the WiFi off so I didn’t get any critical updates needed warnings, but I did get this:
    upload_2021-11-7_11-9-39.jpg

almost like a warning caused by having the WiFi off, because it’s trying to get messages… only briefly threw me off.

So was getting ready to flash my 2020 to 04B82 with the latest update myself with tech stream.

I had to take the truck in to the dealer for a windshield replacement and asked them if the would flash to the latest one. I gave them the TSB etc. and they said no problem we should be able to do that for you.

when I picked up the truck today the ticket said it was already flashed to the latest.

My KDMaxx files are for 04B82.

I guess I can fire up tech stream and try to verify if they actually did the update?

below is a picture of the ticket

Well looks like it was in fact the latest. The previous guy that flashed my truck at the dealer must have written the wrong ECU ID on the sticker :(

Just flashed my ECU on my 2016 to 04b04 in preparation for my KD Max tune! Thanks to OP and everyone else who contributed to this thread. It was a bit of a process but thanks to all the tips in this thread it went very smooth.

My local Toyota dealer did the free update for my 2019 TRDORP 6MT about 6 weeks ago.

It exhaust tone is noticeably louder, but my avg MPG dropped from 18.6 to 17.5. It could be caused by refineries switching to the winter blend fuel in the midwest though.

Probably. When it gets colder and flips to winter fuel, I’ll go from 20ish down to 17-18

Tonred thanks for all the posts and questions answered. I tuned my truck with KDMaxx Pro and I love it. So much better than stock.

I have a friend that wants me to tune his truck. Since I have the cable and software from OV tune can he just buy KDMaxx tune and I flash it for him? Or do I need to have him purchase a license to use OVTune on another truck?

He needs to get his own copy of VFTuner in order to flash his truck.

    You're welcome!

If you have at least four Credits remaining then you can. If you do not, you guys either need to buy a Software Only License by messaging vF Tuner or doing the Pro upgrade to buy additional Credits.
