I’m loving the soft topper. One of my favorite mods to the truck looks wise and function wise.

I had this question with no clear answer when I was looking around, so maybe it'll help anyone else in the same position

As you know, the 5ft bed doesn't have much room to spare when it comes to loading motorcycles and I wondered if a bunched up, retracted Softopper took away precious inches up front. The answer is no. No interference and no change in how the bike is loaded. Front wheel still makes contact with the front of the bed. I'm that much more satisfied with my Softopper now.

Just put the order for my softopper the other day... now time to wait a few, hopefully a couple months. What things have you guys done for lighting on the inside?

There's a guy on here that makes a plug & play LED kit for the bed. Another plug & play kit is the ARB awning LED kit which could be modified.

    Just some stuff...
I've been considering buying a couple of those rechargeable LED lights off of Amazon. They even have some that come with a remote control.

how i always think my truck will look after driving with a softtopper lol. I loved my softtopper, regretting getting rid of it. But, are there any toppers that have sliding windows like you can slide window covers on and off of? I hate the LOOK of windows but driving in a truck with a topper on the back without windows gets crazy, especially because I have a long bed. this may be less of a problem with double cabs who have the passenger windows to look out of.

edit: I discovered bestop supertop 2, with rolling-up side windows. but i cant see that the rear window rolls up.

Installed my softopper a couple weeks ago. Loving it so far! Only problem I’ve had, is the bed rails not laying flat. It sits tilted and won’t seat flush. I’ve tried messing with them, but ended up just leaving them as is. Other then that it’s been great!

It might get better when it warms up. They’re persnickety in the cold.

I figured out why the topper rails lean in on all our trucks. Today I pulled off the rails and replaced the pancake flat weather strip. Worst part was removing the old adhesive from the rails.
While re-installing I figured out why all softopper rails angle in. It is from the weight of the softopper since it mounts on the pegs inside of the rails. I had them looking straight. Put on the topper and they leaned in. Lifted on the topper and they went straight. Readjusted the rails straight, let the topper weight rest and they turned in again. I think it is an unfortunate, unavoidable reality. If the weight of the topper was resting on the top of the rails it would not be an issue.

I discovered this as well. Very annoying to spend 30 minutes getting the rails juuust right only for them to give you the finger when you put the topper on.
