Depends on your location and family situation , in any household with multiple vehicles
It’s prudent to have a least one vehicle with 4x4 .
Its better to have it and never need it .

Nice job, but how many have those skills to do it. I bought a toyota wolverine back around 1978 that was basically a 2wd toyota pickup that was converted by a california company to 4wd. Imo, it wasn't put together very well. I had to redesign the entire front suspension to make this truck reliable.

You probably need to ask yourself when buying a truck if your going to change your lifestyle that you need 4wd when 2wd has been all you ever needed. The climate here dictated i own a FWD vehicle, or 4WD. At that time in the late 60's i didn't have the funds to own one, so it was one of those early used datsun 2wd mini pickups which i got stuck everywhere with till i was able to own a used 66 jeep. After that, its been toyota 4wd's since as my everyday driver.

I regret not waiting for a 4wd. It’s not that big of a deal for me because I’d never use it but it’s definitely nice to have just in case.

Interesting...never really thought of it that way. Years ago, we had an severe ice storm (once in a century). My son had a 4x4 4-Runner, and he used it to come rescue me, then I used it to go rescue my wife. So that is a very good point. Now...we all have cars; theirs both have full-time 4WD, I have a rear wheel drive, high HP car...AND I have a Tacoma OR.

My truck was passed down to me from a family member, I constantly wish it was a 4x4, especially as I do more and more to it I want to be able to take it out to do more extreme stuff but can't cause its a 2wd

Spoken like a 2WD owner. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. However, if you are suggesting someone is "not to bright", check your spelling, otherwise it makes you look not too bright. LOL

Now that is comedy gold right there. Don't forget about the incorrect use of your/you're as well. :)

I can't help it with this computer...it uses spell check, and with make up its own words with a similar amount of letters, or delete them as soon as i post reply. I've tried to turn it off, but for some reason its got memory, and keeps coming back. Sorry if if i hit a nerve with you, didn't mean to.

Just a few things. Hard bed cover, a few decals, TRD Pro grille with raptor lights. Little stuff, Ejection Seats
Had a 4WD, rarely used it. Got a 2WD and never miss the 4WD. Got a Taco because I love to drive and eat tacos. Plus I need a place for my stuff. Without the Taco, I can't go get tacos and take my stuff places.
    Ya feel me?

No nerve. I just think it's funny that "some people are not to bright" is misspelled. Just funny that's all.
By the way, I have owned several 2WD trucks. Nothing wrong with them.

At any rate i'll mention it, i've owned all 4wd toyota pickups since 1978. Btw, i had a 2wd mini datsun pickup before that when we had snowier winters here in connecticut, it sucked trying to keep those little trucks on the road here. If i lived down south there wouldn't be a reason for me to ever get a 4wd.

Just be honest with yourself and get the truck you want. Plenty of people buy 2wd trucks and are very happy. However if you are itching to get a 4wd truck this time around, get one!

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I haven't regretted getting my 2WD. I'm not an off roader....if anything just driving through my pasture. With where I'm at and what I use my truck for, I don't foresee the need for 4WD. I saved some money and got a truck that does what I need every day which is daily driving and occasional towing. If you think you may need 4WD, go ahead. Get the truck that will best suit your needs!

Had a gen1 with 2WD before my current one, with the 2WD i told myself i wasn't an off roader or needed to try to get through heavy snow, but the thought was always back there. The 2WD with falken wildpeaks handled anything i needed for mall crawling, dirt and a bit of snow. Think you can make your own decision after 5 Tacos.

Dude you got a free truck, i hear your gripe but you also know what these things cost.
