scorpion-winter-cat-sfondo-1505470067748.jpg My Challenger has HID Lights not sure on the 2022 TRD? They make a pattern just like the Challenger with a cut off line and super brite! I got about 9 inches of fresh snow at my home today out of the Forecasted 2" they said we would get? I live at the 2800 ft level but it still snowed in town a lot cause lots of car wrecks going over banks and head on crashes coming from Twisp! Even Omak had cars going thru Guard rails on the grade! It was a nasty night to be on the road. I bought Pirelli Scorpion Snow tires if my rims don't get here soon might just have them put on the stock rims!!

The PNW is getting and going to get hit with more. It is a thick wet snow right now, at least in our parts.
    Good luck OP.

I'm not too familiar with cold weather driving. Does this happen more or less as the weather gets colder? Its the slushy stuff that does it?

If there is enough snow to build up on the front grille and disable the cruise control, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you should not be driving with cruise control. It doesn't matter how much "experience" you have as a driver. These are terrible conditions for cruise control.

I'm in Montana, getting the same snow as you right now. It's a wet snow. Don't think too much about it being the Tacoma's fault here. It would stick to anything. Drove the families Ram 2500 today and it did the same thing. That's why it stuck all over your truck, not just the front. Heavy flakes and wet conditions. It's just barely enough to freeze right now. Plus all the almost freezing rain we've had for the past week now it's turning icey.

Nothing to do with the truck, lol. You just drove in barely freezing snow and it sticks to everything. Like ice does after a while in a cup, it bonds together. So your lights were "warm enough", they just did what everyone else's lights were doing and bonded the snow together.

PS Not blaming Toyota for the wet snow and again I do not drive with Cruise Control on in the snow. I was saying the yellow warning light came on saying the Collision Radar was not working. Not owning a new pick up before my wife looked it up in the manual. It also stops cruise control from not working. I was using it earlier in the light rain but not in the snow. As far as the head lights well wet snow sticks to them. Don't want to upset anyone about a Toyota as I like them much better then my 2005 Dodge Ram who had the worst lights ever on a truck compared to how brite the Tacoma's are. I even put new ones on the Dodge and they still suck for seeing at night. That is why I sold it to buy the TRD!

There ya go... I've lived in snow country for 20+ years. Right now I have 8 bags of tube-sand in the back of the bed. That extra 320 lbs of weight reeeeeeally helps. (And the 200 lbs. +- of the shell doesn't hurt either..)

The radar on my wife's MDX also quits in the snow.

Hey there neighbor! Metaline Falls here.. What I do, is wipe a thin layer of vegetable oil on the headlights and the 'T' on the grille. Not 100% awesome, but helps a lot.

Oooooh yeah.... The light fluffy stuff is easy-peasey. The wet, heavy, sloppy stuff? I have to have a real good reason to go anywhere in that mess.
Hmmm... No beer in the fridge. Gotta go...

Yup. And LEDs (besides being f*$king horrible for other drivers) aren't hot enough to melt the snow off.

back end of these trucks are light due to the composite bed. Throw some bags of water softener salt in the back. They're cheaper and much more durable than sand bags!

I've had the radar warning come on during heavy rains, or during bug season when bug guts get splattered all over the sensor. Kind of annoying, but it is what it is. I haven't had too many issues with the factory Goodyear tires and snow. I take it pretty easy though, especially up the mountain. Home will still be there, even if it takes 30 more minutes :D

this is pretty wild. I'm considering getting the LEDs myself but have hesitated to pull the trigger because of the icing issue. Will have to look into this.

This conversation sums up why 5% of us still prefer a manual transmission... Snow conditions control!
