I am going to miss some things about the truck.I've put more miles on it from new than any vehicle I've owned. Very fun to drive. But at this point in time I'm getting a little tired of shifting.
Like I said earlier I've only used 4lo once, and that's in almost five years of ownership.

Myself, I'm racking up miles as fast as anything that we've had previously.

I get you though. Someone will snatch that up in a hurry.

    Good luck!

Thanks, funny thing is I've had it for sale for a couple of weeks. I've had a little interested but no takers. Different dealers offered $16,000 at the lowest and $22,8000 highest.

That is surprising, but I can't argue with facts. As a suggestion, you might was to post up on TW and toss a link to this thread:

I wanted an MT SR myself. The lack of factory tow package is what put me where I am at.

It still amazes me that people drop 45k for the "TRDOR" b/c its better to have all the offroad tech "just incase". Only to be informed by a forum member that the offroad tech in there "TRDOR" doesnt work they way they think it does.

Makes you wonder just how useful all that offroad tech is....if the vast majority of owners have no clue how it works.

Just because a bunch of suburbanite Starbucks soccer dads don’t know how to utilize the off-road tech, that doesn’t make the tech less useful.

My wife has no idea how to use my torque wrenches and cutting torches…yet they’re still pretty damned useful.

But did she buy the cutting torch? I doubt it.

So true. Typical response in every 'which trim level do I need?' post

'ive never used any of the OR features, don't know how they work, I never even go off-road, but you HAVE to get an OR, any other trim level is a waste..blah blah..something about a piece of mind..blah' :bananadead:

I’ve never needed to use my locker on the road, but I use it all the time off-road. I don’t find it helps much in deep snow beyond what ATRAC does, but I have found it useful on rocks covered by shallow snow.

The rear locker engaged in 2hi/4hi at speed on a snowy road does not sound appealing. It would cause issues with steering above and beyond what part time 4wd does already.

I think it depends on use. Most people will never even go off road, and gravel roads is not going off road. Most people will never miss a locker. For me a locker is a must and will likely get a front locker when I regear. but if you have no need for one, you are better off with an LSD of some sort.

I always have to smirk when I hear someone say, “the only off roading I do is dirt roads”. Dirt roads are roads! It’s right there in the sentence. Lol

That said, I have nothing against people that would rather keep their truck on the road, but I always tell them that they do not need a locker, ATRAC, lift, aggressive tires, or any such thing for roads.

Non sequitur rebuttal. Your original argument was that general ignorance itself makes the technology available less useful.

You said:Makes you wonder just how useful all that offroad tech is....if the vast majority of owners have no clue how it works.”

Listen, I get the point you’re trying to make & I’m just bustin’ your balls. It is amazing how some people buy things without truly understanding their usage.

However, just because some don’t know how to use something, that doesn’t diminish the potential effectiveness of the tool.

    P.S.
My wife bought me the cutting torches.

I've got a sport with a airlocker. Big step up over the offroad locker. I can use my locker at anytime unlike the offroad where u need to be in 4low

That's the advantage of an aftermarket locker. You can activate it at any time. Just don't forget it's on, when you get back on the road. I am going to do an ARB up front and keep the stock locker in the back. And really the main reason for the ARB is because I want the compressor for other uses as well.

I don’t see being able to engage the locker in 2hi/4hi to be much of an advantage, but that might be at least partly due to having a 6mt. I use the rear locker for crawling over obstacles and in those cases I am always in 4lo. 4hi just results in burnt clutch smoke.

Additionally, you are missing out on ATRAC/MTS. I get way more use out of that than my locker, because I can just leave it on all the time.

I have heard that the arb air locker engages more reliably though.

I'm one of those who needs to read up on ATRAC and LSD. When I think i'm losing or will lose traction I just pop her into 4Hi and I'm good to go. I've never used MTS. There's lots of snow here in CO so maybe I should go out and try some of the traction settings.

MTS is a pretty amazing system that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough on this forum.

4hi works great on the road. ATRAC/MTS is basically the off road version of TRAC without a throttle nanny and VSC. It’s more aggressive and can run for longer periods of time due to using a hydraulic brake booster instead of a vacuum booster.

Good advice! I noticed in the manual (yes I read it) that it stated owners should put the truck in 4hi once a month and drive... I think it was 10 miles? Nothing about 4lo or the rear locker if memory serves correctly. So far I've been doing it to the letter. No issues getting into 4lo, so I guess I'm lucky there!

    You're right on.

The T case actuator should get that extra swing in and the eLockers is bathed in lube, but I'd still work it out if I had it.

You likely have the Low Range process down. For me, it was just learning that I had to be absolutely stopped and to wait just a bit longer.
